Todddler chokes on popcorn

3-year-old Deonte Riley was watching a movie at a New York cinema with his parents when he choked on the popcorn that they were sharing. His parents hurried out of the theater and tried to save him. "I was trying everything," the boy's father Eddie Riley said. Policemen performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but the boy was pronounced dead at the Mercy Medical Center.

...but who gives *popcorn* to a 3-yr. old??? Even *gummy bears* can be deadly to a kid that delicate and young.

My heart goes out to the parents.

Talk about 6 degrees of separation...a colleague at work is best friends with the unfortunate child's mother. Oh, my.
