Tokyo Maid Cafe?

If I understand this correctly, you pay a woman dressed as a maid (not a sexy maid either) to hang out for an hour and basically act like a silly girl. No sex, no lap dances, nothing like that...

What do you think: Brilliant? Creepy? Bizarre? Personally I think the Japanese are way ahead of us in a lot of ways...

This is really nothing new. People with money will pay to get what they want. It's been happening since the dawn of economics.

I wouldn't really say ahead or behind - just different.

As for the whole 'no sex' thing. Believe it or not, it is not the #1 priority for some people. Some people just wish to pay for the experience. Artists and musicians have been capitalizing on that for just as long. If I want to experience listening to somebody playing the guitar in my presence I find a guitarist and hire the person for their time. There is no difference between the guitarist and the maid. They are both providing a service for the compensation of their time.

I'm half-serious in pondering whether or not dropping two nuclear bombs on that country has had an effect on their cognitive abilities.

One of my best friends lives in Taiwan currently, and she sees these cafes all the time. She loves them. They're a very cute idea, imo, as long as the women feel comfortable. There are quite a few with transgender/male maid cafes. JUST as popular 😀 It's cute.
