Trials of the mods

Again I must apologies for I don't know where to exactly put this thread...
Now for my main theme... I am wondering what did our fabulous mods have to do to become what they are, how much effort did they waste, how much resources... I am interested in each of one story separately... how did you do it, how did you feel, what did you expect...
I am thankful in advance, for I am just a curious cat 🙂

In my case, it was November 2004 and the forum was in the throes of a months-long flame war between two groups of members. The owner asked for nominations for another mod (we only had two active then), and I was one of many nominated. As the nomination fight became more contentious, I emerged as the only candidate acceptable to both factions. I also had three years of experience moderating small forums and groups, so I got the job. I was later promoted to administrator along with my fellow original moderators.

Hooo... is that so... That seems like an interesting and really sociable story, but seeing the current situation I doubt we will get two separated groups now... that was in the golden age of the TT was it not Valerie...?

Hmm ... I was modded a while back, October of 2003; I'm the most senior staffer aside from Noeyes and TickleTheater, although that means absolutely nothing. Like Missy Val adminship came later, in August of 2006. How moderation came to this one is an open question. I suspect intoxication on the part of the bossman when he came to that decision. :ggrin:

Heh HisDivineShadow... why you always belittle yourself I will never guess. Being modest is good, but so modest is out of the question, but that might be the reason why are you a mod. Mods must work and think harder than us regulars and so far you guys are quite charismatic... now I am not surprised...

For me, there came a time when the staff were struggling to moderate the forum due to the increased number of members and the number of active mods and admins.
When Missy Val became concerned for the sites welfare during the stormy season in her location where she may face powercuts, she asked if she could assign a few more "helping hands". Of the nominations by her was me. I gladly accepted, and was later that day given the position of "Global Mod" which would soon change to "Staff". 😛

i have a love/hate relationship with mods on various forums..they either love or hate me...nothing in between..hmm why i wonder..i'm lovable..:ggrin:.truly i am..i wouldn't be a mod for anything...my hat off to you Mistress...
