Firstly I know I can't be the only person on this forum that watches and enjoys the HBO series "True Blood"...now in its fourth season.

I was beyond excited when the episode aired tonight at 9:00. I had already watched the first six minutes of the first episode that were posted on HBO and was obsessed from that point on.

When you finally got to see what the fairies truly did look like, all ghoulish and green (freaky) it kind of weirded me out. I guess the eating of that glowy fruit kept all the humans in a state of confused bliss and ignorance, because as you found out...time has no meaning there.

And Grandpa Earl...the same guy who was Ricky Bobby's daddy?! Really? Come on HBO....:evileye:

It was really sad how he died though. I was touched he followed Sookie back into the human realm, wanting to be at his home to die rather than still trapped by the fairies.

I definitely hope we see more of Mab and all the fairies. I am sure they won't let Sookie off THAT easily.

A few things I found really ridiculous was Jason being a REAL deputy, acting all mature, and for once BEING the mature one rather than Andy Bellfleur (Who is now hooked on V...so lame).

And the fact that Jason was taking care of Crystal's family...I respect that, but I miss the old Jason, the goofy horndog. Now he is slightly boring in my opinion. Hopefully his character fleshes out a bit more this season.

Lafayette and Jesus are still adorable. I love the whole idea of witches, black magic, dark arts, etc. It adds a darker side to "True Blood" aside from Shape Shifters and Werewolves. (And boy oh BOY do I hope Alcide comes back this season...that is a fine piece of ass right there :bubbleheart: )

I really cannot take that Tommy is now living with Maxine and pulling off this goody two-shoes act. He looked like he just stepped off the set of "Leave it to Beaver." I am sure his true colors will come to light as well.

I am intrigued to watch the developing storyline of Sam and his new shape shifter friends. Also the storyline about Tara (or Toni as she's called now by her girlfriend)..it will be interesting to see that develop.

And what the fuck?! Bill Compton is now king of Lousiana?! Never saw that coming. I definitely sensed there would be some kind of drama between Hoigt and Jessica...there always is. I am sure Summer will come into the play eventually.

But I LOVE that Eric has bought Sookie's house and wants to claim her as "his" so she can be under his protection.

Eric is just sex on a stick in my opinion. He is SO damn tall and just so...gorgeous :bubbleheart: :pweese:

Bill's new fucktoy (Katie I believe...from the witch coven)...already irks me. And I am interested to see how Naomi works out (I think that's her name...the Bellefleur chick who is the lawyer).

And I find the storyline about Arlene and Terry's (but really Rene's) baby to be hilarious. We will see how that ends up. :mwahaha:

All in all this season looks like it's going to be fucking epic. I already watched episode 2 on HBO GO...but I don't want to give those spoilers away to anyone who hasn't seen it yet!

My "True Blood" obsession is reawakening as it does every summer and I am so stoked! :rainbowbounce:

I don't do the whole "watch it online" thing...unless it is HBO GO. All those illegal sites are festering with viruses. Just Google it and I am sure you can find it, but I hope you don't get a virus on your computer.

I love the show! That was an interesting twist on last night's episode though.

I forgot he was also Ricky Bobby's daddy! I always think of him as Bill Lumbergh, from Office Space. 😀

I think last night's episode was a little weird, with the whole time passage thing. I haven't read the books, and from what I understand, they show's not really faithful to them, anyway, but I thought the time delay seemed almost like a means for HBO to manipulate the timeline. I'm a little confused, because (trying to avoid spoilers.) at the end of season 3, Bill "took care" of Eric, and now, it's as if nothing happened. I'm kinda wondering if everything is "really happening" or if Sookie is in some, pseudo reality. Oh well, time will tell! 😀

Bill did indeed kick Eric into that vat of concrete at the end of season three. But if you watched the final episode he reappears at Sookie's house and tells her the truth about Bill's return to Bon Temps and how he was only there to track down Sookie for Queen Sophie Anne. Later you see Eric return to Fangtasia to see Pam in a bathrobe looking like she just had a shower, bitching about how she would "never get all this concrete out of her hair." Suffice to say, Pam rescued Eric from the concrete (Because he can call to her since he is her maker) and he survived the concrete attack (unlike Russel 😈 )

Hope that clears it up! Sookie isn't in pseudo-universe and I like the time skip. We didn't have to watch Arlene be annoying and pregnant, watch Tara recover from her ordeal with Franklin, or Jason's struggle to be a cop and take care of Crystal's kin.

That's right! I forgot he did get out of the concrete! Maybe I should have rewatched the third season to get rid of brain fuzziness. Yeah, I guess the time skip does avoid a lot of awkwardness, plus everyone aging a year, changing slightly in appearance, and whatnot.

This has quickly and easily become my favorite TV show. I had been waiting almost a whole year to see this episode and when I did it somewhat mind fucked me.

I also will always see Grandpa Earl as Bill from Office Space. In fact, I think I mentioned that to Flatfoot when I first saw the first few minutes of the episode a few weeks ago. But, I do suppose he does have that "southern" Bon Temps-y style to him as it may have been 20 years ago.

I must say, Bill is looking especially attractive this season. Just that little bit of a haircut has totally made him so much more attractive. Though, Eric will always be hotter.

As much as I don't want to admit it, the first episode was a little boring, but I have high hopes for the remainder of the season, seeing as how this episode just seemed to be a re-introduction to the cast and where they've been for the past year.

And Tara... errr... Toni? Seriously?! A lesbian MMA fighter? C'mon! I know Tara has issues in life and with men, but I think this is a stretch. I honestly think the show could survive and survive pretty well with out Tara as a character. She doesn't seem to have any real ties to the plot usually that directly involve the main characters and, frankly, I'm kind of sick of her. However, thank God she did something with that hair of hers. It looks MUCH better now.

Lafayette, oh Lafayette. I freakin' LOVE Lafayette! If you've read the books, or not, you may know that he was supposed to die at the end of season 1, but thankfully HBO has strayed so far from the books that he's still with us and has that very attractive Jesus by his side.

Speaking of straying from the books, Jessica never existed in the books, so that's interesting. Does anyone know of some other ways the show is different from the books?

In the TV show she only has Claudine as her fairy godmother....in the books she has BOTH Claudine and Claude (fairy godfather) That is a difference 😀
