Hi! I'm kinda new to this forum, so I thought I would share one of my earlier but extended experiences:
I knew I loved tickling even at an early age. I wasn't sure what it was, but I knew it gave me a good feeling inside. About the time I was 13, in the 80's (before caller ID)...I started wanting to find out which girls I knew were ticklish. Unfortunately, I was pretty much an outcast, and the girls (cheerleaders, basketball girls, etc) didn't want me touching them, so I could forget about tickling them.
So I thought about it, and my youong but devious mind came up with a plan. I had an older sister who used to read Tiger Beat magazine, and it always had celebrity interviews in it, and me being nosy, would glance through it, if for no other reason than to piss her off. 😉 One article caught my eye, though. One of the questions was: What makes you laugh? and the celebrity said "I'm ticklish." I had an epiphany right then and there. I decided I would call the girls I was interested in knowing about, and pretend my Dad was with the local newspaper, and that I was helping him with a survey. The survey, of course, was "What makes people LAUGH."
I wasn't sure if it would work. On one hand, I thought it was pure genius. Simplicity itself. On the other hand, I didn't know if anyone would actually fall for it. I knew none of the girls would recognize my voice, they didn't even know I existed. So I tried it. It actually worked! I couldn't believe it. I had written down a few questions to help them along, so it would seem like a legitimate survey, ending with The Question: Are you Ticklish?
To be honest, i got mixed results. Some wouldn't answer, some asked Why? (which I didn't understand. I actually had to remind them that you laugh when you are tickled...like the survey implied), but the majority would answer. Mostly Yes, a few hesitant No's (which I kinda assumed meant Yes, but I don't want YOU to know), and some firm No's. Success!!!
After a few successes, I got a little bolder, and I didn't think it was good enough just to know that a certain cheerleader WAS ticklish. I wanted to know WHERE. So I added a few questions, like: Where are you ticklish? and Do you think you're Very ticklish?, and Where do you think is your MOST ticklish spot? Again SUCCESS!!!! A couple of girls thought the questions were too personal, but most again were all too willing to participate in a survey, and maybe even get their names in the paper.
Now I knew , for the most part, which of the "popular" girls were ticklish, and some I even knew where and just how ticklish she was. I was amazed at how easy it was! Most of the girls didn't even think twice about answering, and even volunteered information. Things like "Gawd, I can't stand to be tickled", or "My brother tickles my feet all the time and it drives me crazy." I had the information, and I could invision tickling the ones I knew about, but that information wasn't doing me any good, other than just peaking my curiosity as to what she would SOUND like when she was being tickled. I'd heard all the girls laugh before, but as most of you know, most girls laugh at least a little differently when they're being tickled.
So I came up with another plan...one that I could use to find out just what they did sound like when they're tickled...and it was pure genius...and extremely simple...as well...
but that will have to wait for part II
(if anyone is interested?)
