Tupac Shakur’s Center Opens To Public
06/13/2005

Afeni Shakur-Davis, the mother of slain rapper Tupac Shakur, officially opened the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts on Saturday June 11. Representatives of platinum selling artist Ludacris were present as well as Shock-G from Digital Underground and a bevy of friends, fans and relatives.

During the event, Sekyiwa Shakur, Tupac’s sister, offered a tearful and emotional speech of appreciation to all who supported creation of the center. “This was Tupac’s dream. He lives on within all of this. His life and legacy did not end that fateful night,” she said to the group of onlookers.

The grand opening ceremony kicked off with reflections of the slain rapper and the foundation by family members and local community leaders. The message was that of hope, prosperity, and communal support.

Arguably, the grandest part of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts is 6-acre “peace garden.” Beautifully landscaped with flowers, wooden benches, and a huge pond in the image of the the well recognized gothic cross Tupac had tattooed on his back. In September, the foundation will erect a 7-foot bronze statue of the rapper in the middle of the pond as a memoriam.

Afeni Shakur, the president of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, said “This has been a long journey, but the important thing about the journey is that this portion of the journey has been a success and we’re open and prayerfully we’ll be able to expand this and make this an institution that will go on and on in our community.”

Complete with ribbon cutting and a butterfly release ceremony, the grand opening ended with a tour of the facility. Inside the center, the walls were covered with fan-inspired photos and pictures of Tupac. The inside of the studio also contains a dance studio with mirrored walls and hardwood floors.

Additionally, the center is complete with dance studio, classrooms, display gallery and has been coined as the “Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Hip Hop.” Organizers hope the outlet will serve as a tool for the children of the community to hone their artistic skills.

Located 15 minutes from the city of Atlanta in Stone Mountain, GA, the center has been a goal of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation (TASF) since 1999. By Alisha L. Gordon courtesy http://www.allhiphop.com/hiphopnews/?ID=4492

So why do you only display Machiavelli now? Where did Tupac go? I liked the obvious similarities in the two pictures. Just a passing thought.

i dont know.. it wasnt showing up anymore, guess who ever was hosting it stopped or someting.

Im a fan of both of them really.

There we go, thanks. On top of all his talent, what a Painfully Handsome man Tupac was, may God rest his soul. Not sure, but I think his last work was "Changes." He deserves/earned a center in his name. I don't believe any other musician can touch him, for message, lyric, feel, timliness. Well, maybe Mozart, but just the feel part, hehee

Not the last of his work yet..2006 the last cd drops. (Albums after death on 09/13/1996)

1996-Makaveli: The 7 Day Theory
1997- R U Still Down (2 cd)
1998- greatest hits (2 cd) *this is where changes debuts*
1999-Still I Rize
2000- The Rose that grew from concrete
2001- Until The End Of Time-(2 cd)
2002- Better Dayz (2cd)
2003- Tupac: Resurrection
2004- Loyal 2 The Game

Upcomming:

2005: No title yet (Spoken word album)
2006: Last cd no title yet

Looking at that list, do you really think he's dead? Just look at the titles too. I know much must have been written about that, but I was out of the country until 2001, and started listening to him when I came back. Either he is totally a classic or he is still alive. ???

Yes Makaveli is very much still alive and he Owes that 2 Niccolo Machavelli and his writings n advices.

*Tupac got the idea 2 fake his death from the book "The Art Of War"*

But trust me when i say this... 2Pac will NOT have an 11th death anniversary.

Listen 2 the song "Ghost" for details

Tupac Died at 7 and he will be Reborn at 7

Biggie Set him up in 1994...Thats why his punkass is 6 feet deep.

Now I definately........

....... have seen it all! Mozart mentioned in the same breath as a rapper, as someone once said "you cannot be serious!!!"

Im sick of the feminem mixes on the new 'Pac albums.
As said by ZNO "Pac will be rolling in his grave, those beats dont bang"
Only the Deathrow albums from Pac are any good as they havnt been tampered with.

I did have a good laugh when feminem cut and sliced pac songs to makes that dis with 50c on Ja Rule. That was so funny. Take that Ja lol, seriously that was just too sad. i suppose their jus jealous that pac actually recorded wid ZNO n Ja

Well WHERE is he? Did I miss some innuendo or slang I didn't understand? Is he hiding out in another country? Was he rich when he "died"? His parents, mother especially, would have to know the truth. Maybe it's some kind of witness relocation program. I will order the "Ghost" cd to find the answers. He doesn't appear to be in to tickling, but ya never knoww. hehe (No offense meant, I have all respect for him, dead or alive.)

hes not just a rapper you moron.. if he was, Do you think hed have a damn center of arts, HE WAS A LEADER And when he does Come back, Jokes like you will understand the genuis named Makaveli.

And what do you have against rap?... maby its just cuz u have crushes on all rappers? :blaugh:
People often ridicule what they don't understand.

Hes in Cuba with his Aunt Assata Shakur

"a blind man and a dead body;
I'm ready to leave town;
and get my cash though;
hook up with Kastro;
homie had to blast on the task force;
stupid coppers tried to play us out;
never that;
they took my money and my stash;
time to get 'em back; (Pac laughs)
upon my secret arrival;
two glock four-fives time for survival;
death to my rivals"

"takin' private planes tryin' to survive the game;
for all my homies that'll never be alive again;
all they promise us is death nigga;
take a breath - could be the last one left nigga"

As for his parents his father wasnt ever there but Tupac Refers 2 Machavelli as his Father.

"Got advice from my father
All he told me was this
Nigga get off your ass
If you plan to be rich
There's ten rules to the game
but I'll share with you two
Know, niggas gon' hate for whatever you do
Now rule one get yo cash on M.O.B.
That's Money Over Bitches cause they breed envy
Now rule two is a hard one
Watch for phonies
Keep yo enemies close nigga
Watch yo homies
It seemed a little unimportant
When he told me I smiled
Picture jewels being handed
to an innocent child
I never knew in my lifetime
I'd live by these rules
Initiated as an outlaw "

Here are the 10 rules Pacs talking about

1. Studying and familarizing one's self with the Kingdoms they wish to conquer

2. Annihilating or expelling the conquered Kings

3. Extinguishing all heirs to the throne

4.Purging the kingdoms of defectors, spies and traitors.

5. Selecting advisors who will strenghten ones kingdoms.

6. Keeping Previiously established oppressive taxes and laws.

7.Intimidating or putting fear in the hearts of neighboring Kings.

8.Moving to, and residing in the newly conquered kingdoms.

9. If he chooses not to reside in theor near those kingdoms then establishing colonies there.

10. If one does not reside there,nor establishes colonies there, then sending troops to occupy the areas

As for legal shit The only place faking death isnt a crime is Las Vegas, Where he died. Why? dont know... and his life insurance has yet 2 be cashed. Ill tell you this though had George Bush been prez when Pac was around he really would be deceased.

"Never will I die Ill be back, Reincarnated as a muthafuckin Mak"

In the song "Hail Mary", Tupac calls himself the Begotten Son. Yes, "Hail Mary" is Tupac's symbolism for his mother, Afeni Shakur. Tupac tells his mother, that just as Jesus' mother (Mary) ran to the gave to find it empty, so too would Tupac be "resurrected/reincarnated" as Makaveli. Tupac used the Resurrected Begotten Son of God to symbolize Makaveli.

Mak is Makaveli.

"Come with me, Hail Mary, nigga run quick, see, what do we have
here now? Do you wanna ride or die? La la la la la la"

Speaking of his Resurrection.

As for a return Makaveli will be back late 2005 or mid 2006.

Also Blondie did you catch what his sister said, its the 1st post.

"My attitude got me walkin solo, ride out alone in my lo-lo
Watchin the whole world move in slow-mo
For quiet times disappear, listen to the ocean
Smokin 'Ports, think my thoughts, then it's back to coastin"

"Westside was the war cry, look how they scatter
Niggaz dyin by my 30-yard, brains'll splatter
Wonder why these niggaz cross me
I'm certified crazy, so sick the world made me
Now Biggy died, everytime I ride it's for reasons
Hard to kill a nigga cause I'm comin back like Jesus"

That is very "awesome" as the young people say. All my sons are Tupac fans, one has a poster in his room. What I like about his music is that, no.1, he is a leader, like you said, 2. His lyrics have a message and are not filth-ridden...(I haven't listened to everything, and of course he is only human, but I haven't come away feeling degraded, as a female, or guilty like I'm listening to something profane) 3. Well, he's just so flippin handsome, lol. and 4. (and perhaps #1 as well) all the mystery and intrigue surrounding him. Was he married, wasn't there a story r/t someone named Faith Hill? Krazy, could you please post the best link you know about him? Thanks for this interesting thread.

If his sister says he's dead, that's good enough for me. I wish he did more movies and explored that avenue of creativity.

LOL 1st of all she said his life did not end. 2nd of all Do You really think she would say hes alive or not? use your head bro. God I luv how Pac and his mother fooled most of society. haha

She said his LIFE, when u die Your LIFE ends, she said nothing spirtual what so ever. She basicly said he still alive because his life didnt end that night.
