After years of listening to music full blast in my car when I was younger, I now suffer from tinnitus, which means that even when it's as silent as a library, I hear high pitched ringing in my ears. For the sake of those who think it's cool to play your music at high volume, especially in the dead of night or when your parked beside me at a stop light, I'm wondering if anyone else plays music loudly or despises those who do. I just want the younger music blasters to know what to expect when they reach my age... and I'm not that much older than they are.

I'll probably end up with that myself. 10 years spinning records and 2 years of being a club goer

Dskodj, I was a nightclub DJ for a couple of years, and those speakers were about three feet from my head. So, I'm sure that contributed to my ringing ears, too.

I did it in my younger days and I still do it today. I don't have it yet but I am probably not that far off. Same music no less.

Maybe we should create a new thread..." which would you rather be: deaf or blind"? I'm not sure which I'd choose... If I were blind I couldn't admire pretty feet... if I were deaf, I couldn't hear music, which I love more than almost anything else... and what about the giggling of a woman having her feet tickled? Tough choice.

there are alot more worse things then being Blind or Deaf. so if that did ever happen to you (i'm not wishing that it does don't get me wrong!) but if they ever happend to me if i ever went Blind or Deaf or both. it would be a struggle but it would be a blessing from God so i would make the best of it. because everything that God does is for a reason and a purpose

I've heard that when one of the senses is lost, the other senses become stronger to compensate for the loss. And yes, there are worse things than being blind or deaf. Suppose we should count our blessings... I have an artist lady friend who is losing her eyesight. Her belief in God is still strong, though.

It was like that at most private gig's I did, but when I worked the one club I did there was a sound proof DJ booth standing bout 12 feet off the ground and well, I had the small monitors in the booth. But when cuein up records to mix and actualy do the mix in I had the stuff cranking in headphones in my ears. I think im actualy partly deaf as is it is now from all that LOL.

To answer the other question kinda asked to all, id rather be blind than deaf simply cause music is my life and my number one love and well...its just me😉

I hear ya, man. (I'm not trying to be funny).
Being blind, you can't judge people by their skin color, or their looks. Sometimes being blind sounds like a blessing. I figure that in 20 years, unless there's new technology, I'll be wearing a hearing aid. I hope not, but the damage is done and it's irreversible.

I hear ya(pun intended). Although I do NOT suffer from any hearing damage or loss I can definitely echo your words of wisdom here. I learned my lesson about Loud music early on in life after my first AC/DC concert! I could not hear right for three days after that and since toned it down.

A real EYE opener that was.

PUNS a Plenty here yes?

TTD😀 😱 :wow:
