Twitter & Tickling

Very, very few celebrities actively use Twitter, except for the ones who I doubt you would care to get off on. Folks like "Weird Al" Yankovic and Bill Cosby. Most of the more "pop" celebrities (IE, most of the women) either leave their Twitter account to their publicity people, Tweet "at" their followers rather than "to" them, and almost never respond to direct questions - most likely due to the volume of people trying to get their attention.

I have seen some people do what you propose. Their success rate is currently nil. Although, occasionally, you might get lucky... Shelby Cobra (of the pop group KSM) has Tweeted about how ticklish she is on occasion, and there are one or two celebrities (one of whom follows me) who does handle her own Twitter account and actively responds to fans. It's notable, though, because so few actually do.

In other words, don't bother.

On the contrary, a lot of celebrities use Twitter. They may not make every tweet themselves, but a good portion of them do. Just about everybody has Ubertwitter, Twitter for iPhone, or another Twitter app that makes it so easy for them to tweet themselves. Just choose any number of random celebrities and view their timeline. You'll see a good portion of replies to regular, every day fans - and it's not like their questions are that groundbreaking or unique.

I was just thinking about this last week. With the number of people that have Twitter, it could work if maybe a couple of celebrities were chosen each week to "Twitterbomb" (for lack of a better word) with "the question" from multiple people. When one person asks somebody how ticklish they are and/or where their most ticklish spot is, it's very easy to get lost in the shuffle, especially when they have thousands (or millions) of followers. Kind of like your email getting buried in somebody's inbox when they get hundreds of messages per day.

But if multiple people ask the same (slightly "odd", at least to them) question, the odds increase that they may take notice and answer it - since enough people are asking.

Theres been celebrities inadvertently mentioning there ticklish on twitter recently. Leann Rimes being one notable person.

But I don't agree with bombarding a celebrity with the question however.

This.

Seriously, what is this fascination we have with harassing celebrities en masse? "Hey, let's gang up on Megan Fox, she'll have to answer our creepy questions then!"

Honestly though, it's very hit or miss. I follow a bunch of celebrities, and I've never seen one answer anyone's questions unless it was related to their work or something promoting them. In fact, I've seen some people do exactly what y'all are describing; they Tweet at every celebrity they can find asking them "the question". To date, not one of them has gotten an answer that I can recall. People make thousands of Tweets at celebrity accounts daily. Y'all are just going to get lost in the noise.
