UFC 148 Predictions

Here are my predictions for UFC 148, this is the card I am looking forward to the most for this year it should be great

Anderson Silva Def Chael Sonnen via TKO round 2- This fight is very personal and I think Silva is embarrassed he overlooked Sonnen last time, won't happen again

Tito Ortiz Def Forrest Griffen via decision- Id normally say Forrest here but it's Tito's last fight so I have to go with him

Patrick Kote Def Cung Le via KO round 3- Kote has power and I think he will catch Le at least once

Demian Maia Def Dong Hyun Kim via submission round 2- Maia's submissions will be too much for Kim in this one

so there are mine what are your predictions for this card

The main event results will depend on whether or not Sonnen has got his mojo back after an unusually flat performance against Bisping. If he has, I see no reason the fight won't be exactly the same as last time, minus an 11th hour triangle.

Prediction: Chael Sonnen Def Anderson Silva via decision

Forrest Griffin Def Tito Ortiz via TKO round 3 - both are old and tired, but I think Griffin has a bit more left in the tank

Patrick Cote Def Cung Le via TKO round 2 - Cote has a better chin and better cardio than Le, he'll finish this late in the second.

Dong Hyun Kim Def Demian Maia via decision - Maia has been poor in his last few fights. If he gets back to his BJJ he can win at any time, but I reckon he'll stand and trade, and come off worse.

I don't know who's going to win, but I hope Chael Sonnen is injured so badly in this fight that he has to retire.

Well I was spectacularly wrong on almost all fronts. This is why I don't bet...

Still, pretty bummed about the main event result. Everyone is banging on about Silva's crushing win, about how there are no more questions left about whether Sonnen could beat him. Weren't they watching the first round? Granted, Sonnen didn't do much damage, but if he stayed on top for the rest of the fight, a few short elbows could change everything. Sonnen lost because of impatience and one stupid mistake, not Silva's god-like brilliance.

I don't think there are any questions left as to whether Sonnen can't beat Silva. Yes Sonnen won the first round, but he didn't really do anything, laid and prayed and Silva didn't let him hit any big shots or advance position. Then in the 2nd Silva made him look bad on his feet and look really stupid with that spinning back fist. Sonnen can say I was beating him in the first fight, and I was beating him in the first round of this fight, but in one he was choked out and the other TKO'd, he didn't and can't get the job done

Sonnen chokes every time there's a belt on the line. Even when he's the favourite. He choked for the WEC middleweight belt. He choked in the first fight against Silva. He got a bomb dropped on him this time around. I sincerely hope he retires after this fight. May he go down forever as MMA's greatest loser. 😀
