let me just say that i am pulling for all the fighters from L.I.

while i know Serra`s chances are slim i do believe that he will put on a great show and make it much more interesting than people think.

i also think that diego is going to beat down kos again

and i am pulling for swick. i still don tunderstand why some of the TUFers are`nt getting the respect they deserve

also.....for PRIDE fc fans

the PPV will air here in the states a 2am,last card under DSE ownership

I don't remember Diego giving Kos a "beat down" the first time. More like barely winning. I think Kos could very well get an upset, although he IS the underdog. GSP will beat Serra.

Okay, let's start with:

Luke Cummo vs. Josh Haynes
Really, I think this will come down to whoever hits the big hit first. Cummo's muay thai is just so solid though.
MY CALL: Cummo by TKO

Marcus Davis vs. Pete Spratt
More strikers! Davis has come SO far since TUF2. He's really stepped up to UFC quality and I don't think Spratt has enough to stop him.
MY CALL: Davis by Decision

Thales Leites vs. Pete Sell
Sell's got something to prove after that loss to Cote. Should be fun to watch at least.
MY CALL: Sell by Decision

Brad Imes vs. Heath Herring
This is a must win fight for Herring. He loses, he may never get another shot at fighting in the US again. Imes is big and athletic, but he's not up to one of the top 10 heavyweights in the world.
MY CALL: Herring by TKO

Kendall Grove vs. Alan Belcher
While I don't think Grove is the next big thing as everyone seems to think, I think he's got more than enough to climb the ladder quickly. Belcher has serious skills, but Grove is just a little bit better all around.
MY CALL: Grove by submission

Mike Swick vs. Yushin Okami
The winner may very well get Anderson Silva as a prize. Both guys are solid all-around and both guys are on great winning streaks. This'll be a barn-burning for sure. Thing is, because they're in Texas, if it goes to the decision and it's close, Swick will take it because he's the hometown boy.
MY CALL: Swick by Decision

Roger Huerta vs. Leonard Garcia
Huerta's going all the way to the title shot. Won't beat Sherk, but he's going straight to the top of the division.
MY CALL: Huerta by TKO

Diego Sanchez vs. Josh Koschek
The question is who has improved more since TUF1, and the answer is Koschek. Sanchez still looks shaky on this feet and needs the takedown for the surefire win. Koschek is a wrestler and as such, will have great takedown defense. Koschek's stand up is looking better than Sanchez and his submission game has taken off like a rocket.
MY CALL: Koschek by TKO. Winner gets GSP. Loser gets Matt Hughes.

Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Serra
The only way Serra can win is by taking GSP to the ground, which is something even Matt Hughes couldn't do. If GSP stays focussed and makes no mental errors, it should be pretty one-sided.
MY CALL: GSP by TKO in Round 1

pretty good assesment except for one thing....

Kos surely has improved but his level of competition hasn`t been even close to that of Diegos making it seem that he has improved more when he has actually fought lesser skilled opponents.

as for the hands.....didn`t Sanchez just outstrike Riggs?

i think Diego is gonna KO him....but but i do expect quite a war. 😀

That's true about Sanchez vs. Riggs, but Riggs loses every other fight. Seriously. Look at his record. It's W L W L W L W L.

You're right though. Sanchez vs. Koschek will be the fight of the night. 🙂

YES!!!! KOSCHECK WINS!!!! FUCK SANCHEZ!! WHOO HOO!! To all you doubters out there the streak is BROKEN!!! HA

bringing back to long island!!!

the NEW WW CHAMPION OF THE WORLD....MATT "THE TERROR" SERRA

:veryhappy :veryhappy :veryhappy

I can't believe St. Pierre lost... I really can't.

Snail Shell

I wish I could have seen the look on Diego's face when they raised Kos's hand.

Koschek won by unanimous decision. All three judges had 30 - 27. The whole fight was stand up.

Serra won by TKO in the FIRST ROUND. It was unbelievable. They were sparring, then GSP got rocked and Serra just went after him. Unbelievable.

The welterweight division got got blown open by these wins. The title is almost literally a free-for-all. If I had to call it, I'd say Serra will get probably Koschek. The winner gets Hughes and Hughes holds the belt at the end of the year.

GSP loses. The Habs lose. Montreal had a bad night. 🙁

aww don`t sugar coat it......

maaaaaybe 10-15 punches landed in 15 minutes.the fight was harder to watch than AA/Sylvia III.....especially with all the crap they were talking.

props to Kos for winning but both of their performances were abosultly terrible!

this fight should`ve looked like Huert v. Garcia....2 guys throwing bombs.they(Kos and Diego) both looked like they were fighting not to lose

Agreed, but the more important fact is that Koschek won. Bad fight or not, it may well be enough to score a title shot.

first of all, i cant believe matt serra won.. i didnt count him completely out, but i DEFINATELY didnt see a TKO victory.. my hat is off to him.. but it looks like matt hughes is up next for him, and unfortunately, hughes will get the belt back.. i respect hughes as a fighter, but i hate his attitude and everything about him.. hes such a dick.. but anyway.. this is how i see it.. serra loses to hughes, hughes gets the belt back.. GSP fights diego or kos, beats whichever one he fights.. and then we have GSP/Hughes III for the belt again.. and then georges gets his belt back.. he is a much more deserving champion..

my intial call on kos/diego was kos by split decision.. looks like i wasnt too far off haha.. i didnt get to see the PPV because my band had a show that night, but i hear it was a boring fight.. either way, i knew diego couldnt handle kos.. i used to really despise him because he was just a straight up wrestler and had boring fights.. but then i saw him choke out pete spratt and TKO jonathan goulet, and i was like wow.. this guy has improved.. i knew diego couldnt handle it.. i have honestly never been impressed with diego.. even since TUF1.. he is very, very simplistic in his fighting style.. he has a 1-2-shoot combination that makes me f*cking sick.. after seeing his fight with allesio, i knew he wouldn't be able to handle kos.. im glad that punkass finally lost a fight..

huerta vs stevenson is next, winner gets title shot against winner of franca/sherk (which is going to be hermes)

okami gets the winner of silva/marquardt, which will be silva still.. i dont see anybody toppling silva for quite a while.. not even rich, if he works his way back up to a title shot.. silva submitted lutter, who's entire gameplan consisted of taking silva down and submitting him.. if okami DOESNT get the shot, i will be really upset.. nobody else is more deserving.. im glad to see japanese talent in the UFC again (unfortunate what happened to mishima.. hes a hell of a fighter)

grove will be a contender with a few more fights and a few more wins

cummo impressed the hell out of me by KOing haynes.. didnt see that one coming

and i will never pick pete sell to win again.. ever
