Currently 35/47 on the year, just shy of 75% :woot:

For Ultimate Fight Night tomorrow:

Diaz def. Guillard by Submission (Guillard's never done well with chokes)
Huerta def. Maynard by Decision (Could go either way)
Condit def. Ellgenberger by Decision
Quarry def. Credeur by Decision (Another good fight)
Cantwell def. Stann by Submission (This will be crazy)

For UFC 103 this weekend:

Griffin def. Franca by Decision
Koschek def. Trigg by KO/TKO
Kampmann def. Daley by KO/TKO (SO upset that Swick had to pull out)
Dos Santos def. CroCop by KO/TKO in Round 1 (Could go either way, but this one's not leaving round 1)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand....

Vitor Belfort def. Rich Franklin by KO/TKO

On another note, some recent announcements from the UFC:
-UFC 105 will be headlined by Couture vs. Vera this October
-Rampage vs. Evans, which was supposed to be this December at UFC 107 has been bumped to UFC 108 in January. Rampage couldn't make the fight because of his obligations to the upcoming A-Team movie. UFC 107 will now be headlined by Penn vs. Sanchez for the 155 belt.

See you ringside!

Finally that time of the month.

Okay,103

Griffin/Franca ~ Griffin by dec.
Koscheck/Trigg ~ Koscheck by TKO
Kampmann/Daley ~ Kampmann by submission
Crocop/Dos Santos ~ Crocop by brutal TKO
Franklin/Belfort ~ Franklin by dec.

I'd like to see Belfort win but you never know what you're getting with him.The guy can absolutely wreck you or wither and die. This being his first fight back in the UFC,headlining the event and looking rather drained in some of his recent photos, I'm picking against him.

This fight is DO OR DIE for Mirko Crocop. He needs this win desperately.I'm no expert but in my opinion he needs to keep Dos Santos on the outside and pick him apart with kicks.Low kicks, body kicks, head kicks and mix it up with straight punches. If this turns into a slugfest it could be a bad night for Mirko. Pulling for Crocop in this one.

I forgot about the Fight Night card so I'll have to think about those picks and check back in.

I like the Couture/Vera fight. It has been criticised quite bit but it's a good feeler fight for Couture back at LHW.And if Randy wins it will setup a good title fight between him and Shogun in the future. 😉

Why is they bringing in Kimbo Slice for???

isn't he the bun that got knocked out in the 1st round of a fight he headlined???

Yup. Kimbo was the poster boy for Elite XC, another US-based fight promotion. He was brought in to be their big name fighter. It was going well until he got KO'd in 17 seconds by TUF 2 alum Seth Petruzelli. His loss was a subsequent collapse of Elite XC.

Following that, Dana White said that Kimbo Slice would only ever fight in the UFC if he won on a season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show. Kimbo called him on his claim and is now participating on season 10 of the show, which starts this Wednesday night. Whether or not he wins is anyones guess. What is clear is that White is not above using Slice's internet popularity to pump up the show. 🙂

UFN turned out to be a very entertaining card. Most definatley.

I didn't know what to think of the fight on TUF.You're tellin' me that is the best talent Zuffa could find for HW's.It looked like the guy who lost had never been in a fight in his life.Seriously.It was hard to watch. All I can think is maybe they brought in a couple cans with the hopes that Kimbo would be matched up against one.

Aside from the fight, the rest of show was pretty good and I look forward to seeing how the season unfolds.

No doubt about it! UFN was amazing last night!

My picks for Saturday...

Griffin/Franca -- Griffin, 2nd round KO...

Koscheck/Trigg -- Koscheck, 1st round KO...no doubt about it!

Kampmann/Daley -- Kampmann, 2nd Round Submission...

Crocop/Dos Santos -- Dos Santos, 1st or 2nd round KO. I'd love to see Crocop kick his ass, but I just don't have a very good feeling that's going to happen!

Franklin/Belfort -- Franklin, Decision...

:toast:

Can't wait for Saturday night!

42/57 on the year. :woot:

Koschek and Griffin were no surprises.

Daley, um, OMG! Expect to hear more from him. The question now is, with Kampmann losing, who's getting the next crack at GSP?

Dos Santos took a groin shot from Mirko freakin' CroCop and lived!! O.O

Belfort: Anderson Silva needs to wake up. If the Belfort that showed up tonight shows up against Silva, expect an amazing Middleweight title fight. :boogie:

Next card is Machida vs. Shogun in just over a month. See y'all then!

Maybe. Kampmann was out on his feet and Daley wasn't hurting and had a full gas tank. Another 2 or 3 punches would have put Kampmann on the floor totally out instead of standing and helpless. Either way, it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the fight.

Or maybe Kampmann would have recovered like Couture did in the 3rd round against Nogueira.
But it's just a supposition.

I couldn't believe Belfort ko'd Franklin in the first round but the fact that he will most likely fight Anderson next is a great turn of events. Not only is that fight more appealing then either Hendo or Marquardt but it sets up a situation where those two will probably face one another which is very appealing.

Fuckin' Crocop.I was hoping Mirko would reclaim glory but it wasn't meant to be.He had some nice counters, took some big shots and even went for a takedown in the first round but overall just couldn't get his game off.Fedor solved the riddle of how to defeat Mirko and since many have followed in his footsteps. It'll be intersting to see where he goes from here but one thing is for sure and that is I'll always be a fan of the guy.

Daley looked crisp in his defeat of Kampmann and a fight with him and Swick would be fun to watch. What's depressing about the welterweights is the fact that there is no real opposition for GSP.At this point he is just above and beyond everyone else. The one fight I would like to see is Dong Hyun Kim Vs. GSP.I'm in no way stating he would beat GSP but I would like to see how the fight would play out.

One thing I found intersting is how they brought up Dancing With The Stars on ABC.I understand Chuck is participating but the fact that they mentioned ABC twice got me thinking of a possible network deal in the future. It could be nothing,I guess we'll see in time.

GSP by TKO in the first two rounds. 😀

The only true test for GSP at this point, minus up-and-comers, years down the road, is Jake Shields. Shields was the last man to hold the Elite XC Welterweight title before the promotion closed (after Kimbo got KO'd in 17 seconds). Yeah, names like Swick, Kampmann, Almeida and Fitch come up, but none of them are at GSP's level.

Shields would be a great match-up.Let's not forget the most recent edition to the UFC's WW divsion. The New York Badass.

Yup, I'm more interested to see Spider against a new opponent, rather than a rematch with Hendo and Marquardt.

Dos Santos vs Gonzaga would be a nice match up in my opinion.

Kim has already a stern test against Dan Hardy.

I can't wait to see the outcome of that bout.Recently I have become more interested in seeing the Korean,Japanese fighters compete in the UFC.Guys like Akiyama,Yoshida, etc, their styles aren't always most effective but I enjoy seeing their skill sets.It adds diversity to the game.

This is off-topic from last weeks cards but still mma nonetheless.

Kimbo is gonna fight ''Big Country'' next week on TUF.They bring in Kimbo on this show, only to have him fight arguably the toughest guy on the cast.I can't wait to see this.

A great fight to be sure, but if Kimbo loses, much of the drive for the season will be lost. Expect Slice to win, just to keep the hype for the show alive.

I don't know the outcome of the fight yet, but it seems to be a clever decision from Team Rashad.
Kimbo's groundgame is his weakness, so they try to eliminate him early before Rampage and his crew could teach him some tricks.

BTW, any opinion on Rampage's retirement ?

If Rampage never fights again it will be unfortunate. Not only is he an amazing fighter but he also has the personality draw as well.I can imagine that being a pro fighter takes its toll on the body and he mentioned that in one of his recent interviews,so I can't blame him there.

We're seeing so many of the 'older' fighters stumbling at this stage of their careers, that it may make sense for him to leave now.I'm in NO way saying he's washed up but what does he have left to gain? This is just one perspective. He has won the UFC belt,he unified the Pride belt and if he walked away now,it's safe to say his career ended on a high note.Keep in mind, that's just one way to look at it.

Potential fights with A.Silva,Machida,a re-match with Shogun all would have been great to see but who knows?Hopefully he'll take a short hiatus and return but I can't blame him if he doesn't.

Rampage has done just about everything there is to do in MMA. I'd hate to see it, simply because he's currently ranked #8 in the world pound-for-pound and he's at the peak of his career. I'd also love to see him get square with Forrest Griffin by handing him a very nice KTFO. 😀
