diego sanchez vs joe riggs - riggs has a punchers chance, but a better punchers chance than anyone diego has faced.. his striking is better than karo, alessio, and nick diaz.. if he can stop the takedown and keep diego on his feet, i could see him getting the KO or the boring decision victory.. unfortunately, i see this one ending in boring decision in favor of diego.. he will get him down eventually and keep him there doing no damage at all but not trying harder either.. unless diego surprises me and actually finishes one of his fights, i see it going to decision without much action.. one step closer to GSP destroying diego
karo parisyan vs drew fickett - tough call, i like both of them.. fickett is a strong wrestler with good submissions, karo is a judoka with wild unorthodox striking and a sick ass ground game.. it could be an interesting grappling match, but i see karo having the edge in the standup and taking it by KO.. fickett is almost too slick to get caught in a submission, unless he gives up his back.. i think karo will catch him off guard with some of his crazy strikes and either finish him on the ground with strikes or a quick submission once it hits the ground..
jeff joslin vs josh koscheck - joslin has better BJJ, better striking.. id give koscheck the edge in wrestling (obviously).. koscheck has gotten much better since he first started out, trains with AKA in san jose.. i just dont think he has ever faced someone as slick as joslin.. if he takes joslin down, he will probably regret it shortly after.. if he keeps it standing, it will make him want to take it to the ground.. i wouldnt be disappointed if koscheck won, but i see joslin taking this one by submission in the second..
shonie carter vs marcus davis - davis by KO in the first round.. i dont know how they can bring carter back into the mix.. hes a joke
luigi fioravanti vs dave menne - luigi (hometown boy, trains at the gym a bunch of my friends train at) is going to destroy menne.. luigi has sick standup, an impressive ground game, and hes making the drop from 185 to 170.. if you havent seen any of his fights besides his fight with leben, you dont know what you are missing.. since that fight he defeated solomon hutcherson, stephan potvin, and hidetaka monma.. i dont think menne has the skills to hang with the new breed of athletes that are dominating this sport nowadays.. i dont think hes DONE, but i think hes outmatched in this one.. fioravanti by KO, round 1
victor valimaki vs david heath - dont really know too too much about either of these guys, but they are both impressive.. my guy says heath by submission
brock larson vs keita nakamura - nakamura coming over from japan.. works with a GREAT team (yushin okami, caol uno), has a 13-0-2 record.. larson hasnt lost since he last last to jon fitch (also his ONLY loss, 18-1) at his last UFC appearance.. this one is a tossup.. they both are great at submissions, good striking (but not great).. im pulling for nakamura.. most japanese fighters that have come over to the UFC havent had very successful times (see yuki sasaki, dokonjonosuke mishima) with the exception of yushin okami.. hopefully nakamura can pull off the submission victory
jorge santiago vs alan belcher - didnt see belcher fight okami, but heard he did alright.. santiago is a beast.. great strikes, great ground game.. i think hes got his number.. santiago by submission, round 2
logan clark vs steve byrnes - clark is 2-0 as a pro, byrnes is 6-0 with 6 submissions.. both of clarks fights went to a decision against not so great opponents.. quick submission for steve byrnes
