I'll make out about other 2 or 3 ones to make a better appereance there (I heard that they can be too critic, so I want to start fine)... 😉

This art was alredy on the forum and became public to pretty much everyone... "old art" might not be reviewed as often as newer, I belive...

But... Every new ones will be posted here first, and then, Deviant for everyone else too...

I'll work on tuesday next week, my hands just got tied by an issue that will take place on monday, so, I can't work peacefuly till then, d@mn.

To be perfectly honest with you, on DA, it won't matter how good or not your art is. People are people and they will critique you if they want to. Because it's a very diverse audiance, and most of them are artists themselves, critiques are likely to be more honest too, and more likely.

You do have the option when you upload a deviation (an art piece) to select the level of critique you feel comfortable with. There are three levels. One discourages critiques, one welcomes them, and one is indifferent toward them (meaning you don't care either way whether you recieve them or not).

The default critique setting is the inbetween one. Most people, unless they are really sensitive, will allow critiques or accept them. Either way, its no rule, and people can still critique you if they want. Its just telling them what you're comfortable with.

As for new versus old art, trust me on this one, its better if you upload both. That way theres a larger gallery, and people can see how you've progressed over time.

I think you may be worrying a tad bit about being there. It's not the rough place alot of artists think it is. Once you make some friends and get into the groove of things, it will be fine. The site is also fully staffed by mods and administrators too. So the rules are enforced, and that does discourage trolls and jerks. 🙂

They probably had a bad experience, whomever told you that, or, they know someone that did. Bad things can happen, even art theft, copying, or even fraud where people pretend to be people they're not. That can happen anywhere though. And it's almost ironic that the least likely place this will happen is actually on the art site itself. Lots of people watch other people, so a majority of dishonest people are immediately or eventually caught.

I HIGHLY suggest, as a friend, that you copyright your work by using the copyright symbol on your work and in the discription of the pictures. If they are original characters, then this is even more important, and I suggest registering them with the proper government copyright agencies. Alot of artists, especially younger ones, are ignorant to copyrights and don't take any measures to protect their work beyond the natural copyrights they get upon the creation of the picture. Most of them just get lucky because no one wants to steal their work or use it, but the better the artist you are, the more precaution the better.

With as good as you are getting, I'd suggest it.
