They aren't actually forced into it, but rather definitely given the ok to do so if they can find no other means of employment.

Let me just say, my screen name is in no way affiliated with the website...it's purely a coincidence

Also, I think it's fucked up that they could lose their unemployment because they refuse to prostitute themselves.

I agree. I wouldn't shame anyone for it. If you can make money and not hurt anyone in the process, then go for it.

But it seems like, from what I read in the article, that it's kind of like a last resort in some cases. I don't know enough about it to argue a point too strongly, but it sounds like the woman in the article caught a tough break, considering she was sought out to do sex work, turned it down, and could her unemployment as a result.
