To say that musicians along the lines of Marty Friedman, Malmsteen, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Paul Gilbert, and multiple others are not as able or technically proficient as their country counterparts is not only unfair, but also completely unfounded and innaccurate. I believe that comments of that nature have their roots deeply entangled in matters of taste.
