Unreal Tournament, IMO, isn't all that great.

If you want the best FPS out there, all you need is a copy of Q3 Arena, which you can pick up for ten bucks. Once you've got it, you can download the mod called Urban Terror at www.urbanterror.net It's free, and it's the best damn game out there. Urban Terror dosen't resemble Quake in the least, it just uses the same game engine... And it's just about the best damn game around. 🙂

UT2003 is good

But, to go to Quake 3 arena mods, download Bid For Power, a DragonBall Z mod, saweeeeeeeeeeeeet 😀

Unreal kicks @$$, IMHO

But there are TONS of great games out there if you like the first-person shooter games. I hear Duke Nukem is coming out with a new one as well... personally, I got tired of the run-around-and-shoot-things games a long time ago, but there's a series of AWESOME and addicting games out there called Fallout, Fallout2, and Fallout Tactics which are fun, challenging, and combine the best elements of role-playing and blasting stuff to bits with a wide variety of cool weapons. 😀 😀 😀

I've downloaded the UT2003 demo (haven't gotten the full version yet) and it's awsome, especially if you have a good graphics card (GeForce4 or Radeon 9700).

The FPS I'm looking forward to is DoomIII!

A good diversion from the "run and duck and shoot stuff" FPS is 'Deus Ex'. It combines a few RPG elements into a FPS, with a very compelling story line. You get XP for completing task, which you use to increase your ability at certain tasks, like computer hacking, lock picking, and of course weapons proffiency. And the maps are completely open. If your character is a hacker, and isn't very good with heavy weapons, he can sneak in the back way, and disable the security system.

Doom III looks to be very good. I was at QuakeCon last year and was able to get a sneak preview of it, and fell in love with it.

Dues Ex did not really do anything for me, IMHO
