According to a German TV news magazine, The US Headquarters are smack down in Al-Qaeda country: Qatar!
The Qatari Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid ath-Thani, has supported the leading cadres of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network for years. CIA has confirmed evidence that he has donated a lot of money (his own as well as money from the ministry) to Al-Qaeda. This support started about seven years ago (according to CIA). 1996 a CIA agent found in Qatar the later chief planner of the 9/11 attack, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. When the FBI was sent over to Qatar to prepare his extradition, the operation failed and the terrorist escaped. Richard Clarke (anti-terror chief of NSA until about 4 weeks ago) believes that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed received a warning from inside the Qatari Royal Family, most probably from Sheikh ath-Thani who was Minister for Islamic Affairs then.
An employee of Al-Qaeda’s inner circle told FBI interrogators that they have always felt rather safe in Qatar, as they were supported by a key member of the Royal Family. According to CIA sources, Qatar has repeatedly sheltered Al-Qaeda terrorists, mainly on the farm of Minister Sheikh ath-Thani in northern Qatar.
International anti-terror experts and CIA agents were very astonished when they heard that the Allied Forces were going to set up their headquarters in Qatar, although they had previously informed the administration of Qatar’s al-Qaeda-connections. Ironically, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid ath-Thani as Qatar’s Minister of the Interior is now responsible for the security of the US command in Doha!
Apart from that, you can buy Osama bin Laden propaganda videos in nearly every video shop in Doha. He seems to have quite a lot of supporters there.
