this reminds me...
...of the worst Valentines Day I've ever had in my life (which is, by the way, why to this date I personally feel that Valentines Day is the worst holiday in the history of all mankind):
February 14th, 1998. The reason why I recall the exact date is because the day before was Friday the 13th, so basically that whole weekend was doomed from the very beginning. At the time, I was in my senior year of high school (a boarding school in New Hampshire), and I had bought a box of candy. However, at the time, I had no idea which girl I'd give it to. The next day, I finally decided, so I dropped off the box of candy (with her name on it) early that morning at her dorm. Later, I went into the main building to get breakfast, and there she was waiting for me, holding the box of candy. She gave the candy back to me, telling me to never give her anything again.
Crushed, I went to check my email in the school computer lounge. Each student has their own login and password, but sometimes for some reason it never totally logged you off (computer glitch). I could not believe my eyes when I saw that the person who did not totally get logged off was the same girl I gave the candy to. I checked everywhere, and there was no sign of anybody around. Also her email was open. Apparently she wrote an email to a friend (whom I've never met before...not that I would, but anyway...), and she mentioned my name several times and said some very negative things about me and my actions.
I went back to my dorm room...destroyed...damaged...and heartbroken. That was my worst Valentines Day ever.
Top THAT, people!
