I remember, at about the age of 6 or 7, watching a b-rate horror show called Son of Svenghoulie....(Holler out, Chi-town)....

But a movie was on there one time, where a dude with a kilt was bent over a small cave or something, and a kid chopped off his head with an axe; his head rolled down a small hill, and plopped into a swamp...

Also an old movie, where a kid is turned into a zombie, and his mother doesn't want to admit it, and as she clutches him to her chest, he bites her, ripping her to shreds....

These scenes have been bothering me for years, as I can't figure out what movies these could possibly be from....

I know from experience, that most of the Forum is EXTREMELY intelligent, and has come up with obscure movies in the past....

Thanks for any and all help....

🙂

Both of those sound so familiar to me, but unfortunately, I think I've seen them when I was a little kid, too, and couldn't tell ya for the life of me what their names are. I want to say Night of the Living Dead for the last one, but I think in that movie, it was a little girl that got zombified and bit her mother. I could be wrong, though.

Were these B&W or color? American made? Any clue on era? Stars? Any other clues? Max Brooks just wrote a book - Zombies, a Survival Guide. There might be a plot list in there.

Lazarus (who is reading over my shoulder) just stated the first one he described was B&W. The second one was also B&W. And he would guess from 68 and earlier....but that's a total guesstimate.

'Twas...

NOTLD that a zombified girl bit her mother....

This one's a boy....

Dammit, now you have my rolling headed kilt wearing zombie biting mother with an axe fetish all worked up again.

I thought I had conquered that one.😱

Back to therapy I go!

Hey Lazarus!
Just a word to let you know that I'm on it for you. Posted at a coupla very knowledgeable bad-movie-lovers boards about these scenes tonight. We'll see what comes up. Give it a day or three😉

Okay, already got some feedback on the second one. Two different sources on two different message boards both believe that the movie where the mother hugs the lil' boy zombie to her is from the Italian-made "Burial Ground", which I'm also told is out on DVD.

No word on the first movie(yet).

BTW--"Dawn of the Dead"-the remake is coming out mid-March! This is a favorite movie of mine, and one that I feel doesn't need a remake. That said, I'll probably go see it, anyway😀

those were home movies from my family's summer vacation in 1969.

More like the Manson Family's vacation on August 8th-9th, `69, Baron😱

Okay, got word back on the other one, with the guy getting his head chopped-off, rolling down a hill, etc. A coupla knowledgable sources think it may have been the early Francis Ford Coppola flick, "Dementia 13", which he directed for Roger Corman's studios. I have "Dementia 13" around here and can check to verify. I recall it does have axe murders, but no one remembers a kilt(though I think itis set in Scotland(?).

GREATLY appriciate the help, fellow TMF'rs....

If anyone has copies of these movies, I would be VERY interested in working out a trade....

😀
