I think what is on that postcard is in French that says something like Criminals in prison in 1908.

My French is not that great, but I think it says:

"Criminals implicated in the conspiracy of the "Empoisonneurs" (whatever that was), (July 1908)
At the court of Jusice, in the prison."

The colonial times being what they were, they probably had more to fear than being tickled in the stocks at the tender mercy of the French government.

It might be a browser issue. My old computer at work won't pick it up, my newer computer at home sees it fine. Stupid computers. B&W t.v.s still pick up color shows!
