Was Cover Girl killed by Zartan in the 2009 G.I. Joe Movie?

Was Cover Girl killed by Zartan in the 2009 G.I. Joe movie or was that scene changed/cut before it was released to Theaters.

I have read on the net different accounts of 2 female GI Joes being killed ( Scarlett and Cover Girl) I know in the DVD version Scarlett lives. I don't recall Cover Girl being killed in the DVD. I might have missed it.


Since Zartan is now the President of the "GI Joe United States" and Cobra Commander and Destro have been introduced, do you think they will make a sequel. Or perhaps they should end it where they left it.

Spoiler ALERT:
Zartan played by Arnold Vosloo gets nanobots inserted in his head which changes into the President of the United States face. He and Cobra operatives either kill the President or kidnap him.

The only female I recall being called(on the DVD) is when Cobra attacked the GI Joe installation.I think it was Zartan that did it,while he was in a Joe uniform.

Unfortunately, they made Cover Girl a minor character in the movie.

Unfortunately, they made Cover Girl a minor character in the movie.

I believe Zartan was disguised as an MP.This was before he got his "powers" The female Joe was a corporal(I think) She was getting ready to go into General Hawk's office to make a report. I do not recall if she was Cover Girl however.

It was just before the big fight scene at the installation.

Zartan and Storm Shadow went into General Hawks office to get to the crap in his safe. Zartan clearly impaled Cover Girl with a sword of some sort from behind, killing her. Storm Shadow showed his disgust towards Zartan for killing a woman (and an unarmed one at that), but Zartan blew it off.

That was the theatrical version, I haven't seen the dvd. I passed it up in favor of Star Trek.
