I posted this in another thread on July 8, but it bears repeating:

I went to a minor league baseball game last night [July 7], a home game of the Brooklyn Cyclones in Coney Island.

Before the playing of the national anthem, the stadium announcer asked every to stand for a moment of silence, "in memory and honor of those murdered by the terrorists in London this morning." The crowd of 8,000+ complied, standing and remaining silent in tribute.

Just thought this wouldn't make the news anywhere outside of Brooklyn, and wanted to record it in this thread.

Rule Britannia, Britannia Rules the waves ta da da (except for the American Navy, but they have a bigger coastline to defend to who knows and if the Falklands taught us anything its that a whole Navy can easily be wiped out with a few planes and some fancy missiles, but maybe America would be better equipped to replace its lost ships, although sod it, i think a warship is only a truly scary proposition for threatening poor countries anyway, i think a navy would be shit in modern warfare, when all vessels could be sunk in weeks with good tactics and missiles)
