Week#1 Standings

A pretty good week for most of us. There is a bit of a problem though. The New England Patriots cheated in their game on Sunday against the New York Jets. Now I am a Jets fan. I felt as though the Pats would win this game but a close one. The game was a 38-14 blowout. But again I point out that the Patriots cheated and the league will deal with that later in the week or early next week. But for those that picked the Patriots, it is not fair to hold that against you so you will get the win. For those who picked the Jets ( like myself ) though we should be penalized for being so foolish, I will not charge that game to you. This means that if you picked that Pats you win the game. If you picked the Jets you will not lose that game. It will be as though that game was never played. If anyone believes that there is a better way for me to approach this then by all means let me know. I felt this was the best ( and fairest ) way to go. If anyone has any further comments please post them or send me a pm if you want to curse me out. Here are the standings for week #1 of the 2007 Football season. You will see that Natural jumped out to the early lead. Maniac, Chaos, Sadira and Fiend all follow close behind. Here is a look at the complete standings:

Belichick speaks with Goodell, apologizes for videotape flap

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick apologized Wednesday for the commotion surrounding his team following accusations that his club spied on the Jets during New England's season-opening victory in New York.

Belichick said he spoke with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell this week about a "videotaping procedure" during last Sunday's game and "my interpretation of the rules."

"At this point, we have not been notified of the league's ruling," Belichick said in a statement. "Although it remains a league matter, I want to apologize to everyone who has been affected, most of all ownership, staff and players. Following the league's decision, I will have further comment."

The statement follows a report that the NFL is considering punishing the Patriots for spying. Belichick refused to elaborate on the statement several times during a news conference. After about 15 minutes discussing Sunday's game, he was pressed harder on his "interpretation of the rules," and the coach walked out of the room.

ESPN.com, citing league sources, reported Tuesday that Goodell has determined the Patriots violated league rules Sunday when they videotaped defensive signals by the Jets' coaches. But the report also said the Patriots have not yet presented their case to the league.

The Web site's report said Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks."

A league spokesman, however, said only that an investigation is under way. Both teams said no decision has been made.

NFL security confiscated a video camera and tape from a Patriots employee during New England's 38-14 victory. The employee was accused of aiming his camera at the Jets' defensive coaches as they signaled to players on the field.

The statement was issued 10 minutes before the standard Wednesday media availability at which Belichick, like all NFL coaches, discusses Sunday's game. But few in the media workroom had come to hear about the San Diego Chargers. Belichick begged for a football question.

"Any questions about the Chargers?" he pleaded in his standard other-things-to-do monotone. "Want to talk about the football game? If not, I think that statement pretty much covers it."

It appeared that he might find no takers, before one reporter asked about defending against Chargers running back LaDanian Tomlinson.

The coach smiled.

"Whatever happens out there Sunday night, out there on the field, that's where everybody will make their statement," he said.



The fact that Belichick ( the cold fish that he is ) apologized for cheating tells me enough. Fact is, if you cheat on ONE PLAY that is one play too many. I realize that the Patriots were the better team and DID NOT NEED TO CHEAT!!! The fact is: THEY DID!!! Unless you can convince me that Patriots cheating didn't affect ANY PLAYS or give BENEFIT to the Patriots in anyway, I will stick with my decision. Though your's and The Wiz ( who complains about the sun shining ) objections are duly noted. Please understand Fiend if this happened in ANY GAME at all ( including a miscarriage of justice to your team ), I would have taken the same stance. The fact is, like I said earlier the Patriots were the better team. No question about it. But it is the fact that there was cheating going on at all that upsets the balance of the playing field. I really wish that this did not happen. Like I said, I gave credit to those who picked the Pats because I believe that the Pats ARE the better team. But because I don't know the extent of their cheating, I have to give those who picked the Jets the benefit of the doubt. Because as you pointed out with Randy Moss if they knew what coverage the Jets were playing on defense they can audible out of their original play and change the play. It help to know what plays are being played both offensively and defensively. As far as I am concern, they should saddle the Patriots with the loss. The Jets should keep the loss as well but New England SHOULD NOT benefit from cheating therefore they should be forced to forefit the game and have it put in the loss column. They is just my opinion!!!

There's no doubt that the Patriots cheated and I hope they're stripped of both first-round pick they have next year and more. I just wanted people to get their loss. It's no big deal though.

I completely understand. I want people to get their wins and losses as well. But I HAVE to take into consideration if this game could have been closer or a different outcome based on the cheating aspect of it. For that I am sure you can appreciate my position. I mean had the Patriots not cheated could this game have 27-21. I don't know. The fact that they cheated tells me that I will never know. That is why I can't give those that pick the Jets a loss. It wasn't a level playing field. By the way, good win for Dallas. They better play better defense though.

Cheating is cheating!!! It is wrong!!! It does not matter when where or why it happened. I am not saying the Jets should win this game by forefit. I don't want that. But you should lose the game for cheating. The fact that the Patriots didn't need to cheat to beat the Jets is not the issue. The fact that they did cheat IS the issue. For that you should be punished. If you have to give up draft pick that is one thing but if Belichick leaves your organization after this season then the Patriots are being penalized for what your current coach did. That is why the Patriots should lose the game. Should the Jets win??? HELL NO!!! They didn't deserve to win. But because the Patriots did, they do deserve to lose.

No!!! You are not scared!!! You only cried like a little bitch saying, " I can't remember my safe word. " Then when you finally remembered it you used it 6 times in 5 minutes. But your not scared.
