Here goes my picks for the last week of the regular season in the League where they play...for pay!!!

New York Giants -2 1/2 @
Washington *--- is this not one of the biggest collapses in history??? The Giants were 6-2 and riding high. Since they are 1-6 and limping to the finish line. Their one win was against the Panthers with their back-up QB starting the game. All pressure is on NY. They MUST win to potential save Coughlin's job. Though the Giants can lose and get into the playoffs, I would say it is highly unlikely. Washington having nothing to play for but pride beat the Saints 2 weeks ago and played to an overtime loss to the Rams in St.Louis last week. I believe that the Giants have their work cut out for them in the Nation's Capital. I am taking the Redskins and the points to basically finish off the Giants.
Sunday, December 31st,2006
Buffalo +9 1/2 @ Baltimore--- I do know that the Ravens are good. They are also trying to lock up a first round bye, but they are playing a very good team in Buffalo. I think the pointspread is a little off here. I think the Bills will give a good effort to try and finish at .500. Now Buffalo will probably not win, but the game will be close. Taking the points and Bills.
Pittsburgh +6 @
Cincinnati *--- Pittsburgh had a chance to impact the playoff picture in the AFC last week and got bombed at home by Baltimore. Cincinnati MUST win this game and hope that either the Jets will lose to the Raiders in the Meadowlands or that the San Francisco 49ers beat the Denver Broncos in Mile High Stadium later in the day to get in the playoffs. That is a tall order to ask for. Even children ask for less on their Christmas list. The last time these two teams met was back in week #2 in Pittsburgh when the Bengals beat the Steelers 28-20. At that time though Big Ben was sidelined with an illness. I believe that Cincinnati will win this game and want to get back to their locker room and in front of the television to watch the Denver game on FOX. I am giving up the points and taking the Bengals to win this game.
Detroit +13 @ Dallas--- This is a slap in the face. Dallas has lost two straight home games by a total of 41 points. The Lions have only lost one game on the road by double-digits and that was back in week two in Chicago. I am so tired of everyone thinking that Dallas is so good. Where is the proof??? They are 9-7. I'll take it a step further and say, if this conference didn't stink so much Dallas would be 5-10. The Lions stink. Don't ever think that I don't believe that. But is Dallas as good as Chicago who is the ONLY team to beat Detroit by double-digits on the road??? No!!! In fact, that is a HELL NO!!! If Dallas is so good, why have they lost their last two games at home by a 65-24 count??? Now Dallas fans, don't cry. It is okay. You won't need to worry about your team after next week ( and thank God for that ). I am taking the points and going to watch the Lions keep this game VERY CLOSE!!!
Cleveland +4 @
Houston ---Houston has been inconsistant that is a fact. But they are 3-4 at home and I am sure would like to finish at .500 at home and build from there. Cleveland got clobbered by Tampa Bay a week ago. I actually picked Cleveland because they were home. I won't make that mistake again. I am taking Houston and giving up the points.
Miami +7 1/2 @
Indianapolis--- Miami played tough on Christmas day. They are looking to avoid a 10 loss season. The Colts still have thoughts of a first round bye, if they win and the Baltimore Ravens lose at home to Buffalo. Another tall order here, but I think the Colts will step it up and play well in this game and cover the spread. Taking the Colts and the giving up the points.
Jacksonville +2 1/2 @
Kansas City *--- I am convinced you can't win in December in Kansas City. Though, the Ravens did back on December 10th. It does not happen often. Both teams need to win and LOTS and I mean LOTS of help. For starters they need the Jets and Broncos to lose. Kansas City needs the Bengals to lose to Pittsburgh and Jacksonville needs the Titans to lose to New England. Both teams need to focus on their own task at hand and win their game here in Kansas City. I will favor the home team and give up the points.
St.Louis -2 @
Minnesota *--- I tossed a coin in the air, it came up heads. For that reason, I will take Minnesota to win their season finale at home. Actually, St.Louis does have a chance at a playoff bid here. The Rams need to win. They need a Giants loss at Washington ( so the Rams will know if they are playing for anything on Sunday at the conclusion of the Saturday night game ). If that happens on Saturday, then they need to win their game. They need Carolina to lose at New Orleans and they need Atlanta to lose in Philadelphia and in the end, if they get all of that then they need to watch Sunday night on NBC and need to root for Chicago to beat Green Bay to make the playoffs. Did you follow all of that??? Good. Talk about your Christmas wish list. I am taking the Vikings who have nothing to play for and make it easy for everyone to follow. Give me the points and the Vikings.
Carolina +7 @
New Orleans *--- Carolina needs almost as much. They need a Giants loss, a Green Bay loss and they need to win here in New Orleans. New Orleans really has nothing to play for as they have wrapped up the first round bye here. So it is possible. Not likely. But it is possible. I am taking the Saints and giving up the points.
Oakland + 11 1/2 @
New York Jets *--- Oakland coming to the Meadowlands. The only thing keeping the Jets from going to the playoffs is Oakland. I do not like the spread. In fact, I hate the spread. I think it is an awful spread. Oakland has a number 4 ranked defense. It is their offense that is VERY offensive. The Jets will play this game close to the vest. They will avoid mistakes and look for Oakland to make mistakes. Oakland leads the league in turnovers, coughing up the ball 43 times this year, including 8 turnovers in the last 2 weeks. The Jets will play the game and wait for the mistakes to happen. I will take the Jets and give up the 11 1/2. I will probably lose this game but, I am pretty sure the Jets will not.
Atlanta +6 1/2 @
Philadelphia *--- Philadelphia can clinch the division with a win or a Dallas loss against Detroit ( which is not likely ). Atlanta needs lots of help to get into the playoffs. I think Jeff Garcia has put his name back on the map and is going to ride the wave. I will take Philadelphia to complete their improbable comeback.
Seattle +3 1/2 @ Tampa Bay--- Seattle has nothing to play for here. They are gettting set to go to the playoffs. Tampa Bay is getting set for the off-season. I think that Tampa will play well. I think this a field goal game. For that reason Tampa will not cover. I am taking the Seahawks and the points.
New England +3 @
Tennessee *--- Is there a hotter team than Tennessee??? Tennessee has won 6 straight games and 8 of their last 10 games. Vince Young gets my Rookie of the Year vote. Tennessee needs to win and get lots of help from everyone to get in the playoffs ( in fact, I think they need a pardon from the President as well ). New England knows they will be playing on wildcard weekend. It is a matter of who will they be playing??? I will figure that New England will try to stay healthy and so I will give up the points and take Tennessee.
San Francisco +10 1/2 @
Denver *--- Denver's scenario is easy. Win and you go to the playoffs. San Francisco played themselves out of a playoff spot a week ago in their loss to Arizona. Look for Denver to take it to the 49ers and get to the playoffs on a roll. Giving up the points and taking Denver.
Arizona +14 @ San Diego--- San Diego's goal is to win and they have homefield throughout the playoffs. But they will also try to stay healthy as well. Arizona has played well lately as they have won 4 of their last 6 games. A win here for Arizona ( not likely ) might save Dennis Green's job ( if it hasn't been saved yet ). I really hate the point spread here so I will take the points and Arizona and pray that LT doesn't score 5 TD's himself.
Green Bay +3 @
Chicago *--- Though Green Bay has played well on the road this season, I do not expect them to waltz into Chicago and beat the Bears. The Bears are another team that will try to stay healthy but Green Bay is really not that good. Look for the Bears to come out on top and go into the playoffs first round bye on a roll.
And those are the picks for the final week of the regular season. Thank you again for playing all year long. See you in 2007.
Happy New Year Everyone!!!
