Alright now, there are 11 games left in the NFL season. Four games this weekend, four next weekend, two the following weekend then Super Bowl Sunday!!! Washington Redskins +3 1/2 @ Seattle Seahawks 4:30pm on NBC

Seattle has been in trouble all this year; the only reason they are in the playoffs is they are part of a bad conference. I look for Washington to shut down Seattle non-running game and suspected passing game.

Jacksonville Jaguars -2 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 8:00pm on NBC

I hate the fact I have to pick against Pitt, they started out soo good to end up sooooooooo bad. DAMN MY EYES!!!!!!!!!1

Sunday,January 6th,2008

New York Giants +3 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00pm on FOX

He's no Peyton Manning and they are not the Colts.

Tennessee Titans +9 @ San Diego Chargers 4:30pm on CBS

This is the game of the week; Depending on which Chargers shows up, this should be a very close game.

Washington

New York Giants

Jacksonville

San Diego

Washington Redskins +3 1/2 @ Seattle Seahawks 4:30pm on NBC - Washington is looking for revenge, & I believe Seattle is as soft as Shaun Alexander.
Jacksonville Jaguars -2 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 8:00pm on NBC - It's time to quote Razor 'N' Guido - "Do it again. Do it again." Fred Taylor dominates here.

Sunday,January 6th,2008

New York Giants
+3 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00pm on FOX - Your game of the week - Jeff Garcia finally has crap around him. He will finally lose to the New York Football Giants!
Tennessee Titans +9 @ San Diego Chargers 4:30pm on CBS - I would love to see the Road Teams Sweep this weekend, but not with Young hurt & Roydell Williams done for the season. Tomlinson puts them up big I think.

i do not know about game of the week. tennessee can not score. any team that can only score 10 points against my absolutely pathetic jets should have a hard time scoring on san diego. i see a 35-10 game here.

I say game of the week because of Tennessee defense; they are more likely to score more than the offense. Also, if the Charger do not get their running game going they are doom.

Lastly, the reason why i call it the game of the week look at the other 3. Need I say more?

Washington Redskins +3 1/2 @ Seattle Seahawks 4:30pm on NBC--- I have to say that my heart is with the Redskins. It is a GREAT story. I also have to admit that Seattle has the best 12th man at home of ANY team in the NFL!!! I believe in my heart and my head that this is a Field Goal game. I also believe that it will be Seattle coming out victorious. But with that hook on the end of that 3 it makes me believe that Seattle will not cover. If I overanalysised this game then I probably deserve to lose it.

But with that said, here are my thoughts on this game, the Redskins need to run the ball and keep this game from being put in the hands of Todd Collins. Though Collins has done well, he has not been in this spot since college. Collins is 3-0 as a starter since taking over for the injuried Jason Campbell. Joe Gibbs will have this Redskins ready to go. With Matt Hasslebeck running the show for the Seahawks he can be a gamebreaker. Shaun Alexander could control the game if he gets back to his old form. He has not rushed for 100 yards in his last 10 games. Expect to see more of Maurice Morris if Alexander is not running the ball well. I will take the Redskins to even though I expect a Seahawk win. They will not cover. Taking the Skins and the points.

Jacksonville Jaguars -2 @ Pittsburgh Steelers 8:00pm on NBC--- I can make a GREAT case for both of these teams to win this game. I have wavered back and forth on this game for the last four days. Here is what I came up with: Week 15 the Jaguars beat the Steelers 29-22. The Jaguars dominated this game outplaying the Steelers and outgaining the Steelers and ultimately outscoring the Steelers. Despite being dominated the Steelers did come back to tie the score at 22-22 before the Jaguars put the final dagger into the Steelers. That is pro Jacksonville. Now the pro Pittsburgh is this: They have dominated at home for the last 37 years in the playoffs going 16-7 over that span of time. The Steelers are not use to being manhandled at home and is unlikely that Jacksonville will dominate them like they did back in week#15. Also Ben Roethlisberger is 5-1 lifetime in the playoffs. Plus also as a pro Pittsburgh this is David Garrard's first ever playoff start and it will be in a hostile environment. All that being said, I believe that Jacksonville is the probably ready to step up to the challenge despite the fact that this is Garrard's first playoff start.

Jacksonville will try to establish their running game with Maurice Jones Drew and Fred Taylor and look for them to continue to try to run the ball. This will take the pressure off of Garrard to the point where they hope that Garrard has to make a limited amount of plays. For the Steelers with everyone getting hurt, they just want to stay on the field. Since the Steelers have an advantage at QB and WR's they will try to pass as much as possible. Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes will get a lot of touches. Roethlisberger will also try to target Heath Miller his tight end. Jacksonville will rely on the speed of their defense to try to keep these guys from going wild on them. I am giving up the 2 points and I will take the Jaguars to win this game.

New York Giants +3 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00pm on FOX--- This game could be fool's gold. Was what we saw last week from Eli Manning against the Patriots his coming out party??? Or is he setting up for another let down??? Whatever we saw last week, Manning must do again this week for the Giants to prevail. My biggest issue with Eli Manning his feet are happier than a 16 year boy having sex for the first time. Will he be able to read that Tampa Bay is going to be playing a cover two defense against him or if it will be a zone defense. These are reasons for Giants fans to be concerned. If he can't read the defenses that Tampa Bay will hide on him, will he play right into their hands??? On the other side, Jeff Garcia a seasoned veteran who is 2-3 lifetime in the playoffs. But those 2 wins come at the expense of the Giants. First one was a famous game against the 49ers in 2002 when the Giants blew a 38-13 lead with 17 minutes left to play in the game and lost it 39-38. The second game was last year when Garcia lead the Eagles to a 23-20 victory over the Giants.

For the Giants to win this game they must run Brandon Jacobs successfully. They must control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Eli Manning has to take care of the ball. He cannot fumble the ball or panic in the pocket and throw the ball to the Buccaneers. Get the ball to Plexico Burress and Amani Toomer and the Giants have a legitimate shot at winning. Now losing TE Jeremy Shockey will be a blessing for the Tampa Bay defense but they should not sleep on rookie TE Kevin Boss. Jeff Garcia will have guys like Ike Hillard and Joey Galloway as his preferred targets. But look for Earnest Graham to get most of the work out of the backfield Michael Pittman will spell him. This game comes down to who's defense plays a better game. Whoever turns the ball over more in this game will likely lose. If the turnover department is even the Giants do have the talent to win this game. The Buccaneers have not won a playoff game since they won the Super Bowl XXXVII. The Giants have not gotten out of the first round under Tom Coughlin. Should be an interesting game. I am taking the Giants in a close game.

Tennessee Titans +9 @ San Diego Chargers 4:30pm on CBS--- All the injuries to the Titans makes this an awful game. This game will hopefully be played close for the first half. It probably will not be though. The Titans best chance to win this game on Sunday will be if Kerry Collins plays this game. Vince Young has 9 TD's and 17 INT's. Vince Young is also hurt. Though the weather could be a factor, I believe that the Chargers should and will rely on their running game in LaDainian Tomlinson. I don't believe that Phillip Rivers will need to make too many plays this weekend. This game has 28-10 written all over it. I don't see this game being much of a game. This might be the game you knock one or two things off the honeydo list!!! Taking the Chargers to win this game big!!!

Those are my picks for Wild Card Weekend!!! Enjoy the games everyone!!!

Wild Card = reward for mediocrity

There are 4 divisions in each conference.

4 teams in each division.

All we're asking is that to earn the right to play for the biggest trophy in football you win your division by being the best of only 4 teams.

There's no need for this wild card BS except for $$$.

Teams with records of 8-8 or 9-7 should be watching on TV not playing.

It feels like some kind of time warp. You're literally 37 years too late with that sentiment. The wild card has been a part of the NFL since the AFL merger in 1970.

I would argue that being one of six teams in a 16 team conference is a fair percentage. And if you have a problem with teams that are 9-7 making the playoffs, that won't be eliminated if there were no wild cards: Tampa Bay was 9-7 this year. You would need to scrap the whole format, pick the teams with the best records, and hope that one conference wasn't a lot stronger than the other one.
