Week #22 - Super Bowl Sunday

What an interception. Possibly the best in SB history.

Peyton walked off the field without congratulating Brees. Talk about sore loser.

Definitely one of the best in SB history. And I saw that with Peyton. I don't think I've ever seen the losing QB not congratulate the winning QB. Until now I guess..........

That's just good sportsmanship. Something most of us learned playing sports as a little kid.

The biggest problem with Indy was that they thought it would be a lay-down. The Saints weren't having it.....they were busting their butts all week long and it paid off! I'm normally a die-hard AFC fan, but I was secretly hoping that at least the Saints would make a game of it.......and they certainly did!

That's why I was rooting for the Saints. They've been busting their asses to get to the SB and all the media regarding "The Awesome Peyton Manning" was getting on my nerves lol. It's like the Saints were shut down before the game even began. Sure, Manning is a great QB with a great team and I like and respect the guy but it's nice to see good, hard work pay off. Like they say, any given Sunday.....

How sweet it is. I remember watching that opening kickoff back in 67 when
Gilliam ran it back for a touchdown. I remember my old man buying 40 more
foot of television antenna pole so we could watch the Saints from the
Monroe station instead of the fucking dallas cowboys coming from the
Shreveport station. All these years of waiting and hoping. Now it's finally
come. It might be the only one but it's OUR one.

Aww.....poor maniac!

How much did you lose??

At least we didn't have to check Mass hospitals for you this time...........:banghead:

Only about $20. i bet the under, and i bet Indy for the first half. so that eased the pain a bit. i just wanted bragging rights! i hate the saints! :moon:

I think a rematch with Minnesota will be scheduled as the first game next season for the Saints. It makes the most sense.

No one should underestimate how great Peyton Manning truly is. He is Mr. Everything to that Colts team. We're witnessing the greatest QB of this generation (possibly of all-time) play the game. He's the reason why many people picked the Colts as the favorites.

Sounds like some sweet memories you have there. Congrats to you and your city on adding one more! 🙂

He threw the winning interception in Super Bowl XLIV. I hope he wins another Super Bowl, because if he doesn't, that win 3 years ago is proving to be a fluke. I remember because if it weren't for the Chiefs completely not showing up for that first wildcard game, the Colts would have lost that game.

Manning is looking more and more like the biggest choker ever.

I thought he was going to close the gap towards the end, perhaps send it into OT, but the Saints were the better team in Miami. Manning is a great quarterback, a future HOFer, but he is a primadonna, as shown by his lack of sportsmanship at the end of the game. You could see him getting fussy on the sidelines whenever things don't go the way he planned. When he gets rattled, he's toast.

I can tell you...he's no Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, or even toughest ever...Johnny U. Peyton wished he was Unitas. Johnny is looking down from Heaven cheering, because he would have nothing to do with the Colts after they left Baltimore.

I'm thrilled that the Saints won. I was only 4 or so when the old Baltimore Colts pulled out of town under the cover of darkness so many years ago, but after learning of their proud history while growing up, I could never bring myself to have any rooting interest in the Indy version. The Saints have done the city of New Orleans proud. Mardi Gras has begun much earlier this year.

Maybe now all this media gushing over Manning will die down for a while.

A few years ago, it was Tom Brady that was the "greatest ever" and this year it was Manning that was the "greatest ever".

Bullshit.

Thank you Saints.

Lol, I'd love to see one of today's QB's play back in the day where QB's were just like any member of the team and fair game......none of this "hands off" bullshit. Would have been funny as hell to watch Tom Brady get slammed by someone like say, Jack Lambert. :jester:

Tom Brady has already oriven what happens to him when he is pressure. Pressure is the kryptonite of any QB.

I was going to say something about him saying Payton might be the greatest QB of all time.. but i guess you already said that's a big No he's not. lol I wanna add in Steve Young and Troy Aikmen to that list of QB's you listed though... Greatest football player that's playing right now? Quite Possibly, but ever? No... and I think Drew Brees is a heck of a QB too though.

And why did everyone seem to think that the Colts would get 30 points? They couldn't even get 20 points lol.. but of course I'm guilty of this too, however I thought it was going to be 35 to 31, Saints over the Colts.. so I was really close to getting the Saints score right... lol... But I didn't care about the score though, all I cared about is that I knew they were going to win... how much doesn't matter, they still won.

My actual guess was a 17-13 Saints win, but it looked a heck of a lot better for 30 total game points at halftime than the actual over/under total.
