Week #9
Okay, I am coming off of a bad week emotionally!!! I want to thank those that stuck by me. I found out who my real friends were this week. I guess that was kind of refreshing. I guess the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was right, " In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." I think it should be 'supposed friends.' Makes me wonder!!! Oh well, we move on...to week#9 in the league where they play...for pay!!!

Washington -3 1/2 @
New York Jets---The Redskins and the Jets are meeting for only the ninth time in their history. The Redskins are 7-1 against the Jets. But over the last five games four of them have been decided by 5 points or less. Neither team scores very much. This has all the makings of a 13-10, 17-14. 12-9 affair. Redskins will win the game but I doubt they will cover.
Green Bay +2 @
Kansas City--- Short week for Green Bay. Better defense for Farve and the Green Bay offense to go up against. You can bet Grant will not run like he did against Denver. Kansas City will try to play smash mouth football. They will be content to run the ball. They will be content to play for field goals. Kansas City has always been a tough team at home. The Chiefs are 6-1-1 lifetime against the Packers ( does not count Super Bowl I ). Also a fact is that Farve has NEVER beaten the Chiefs in his history ( 0-3 ) Expect the Chiefs to be 5-3 when this game is done.
Arizona +3 1/2 @ Tampa Bay--- This is an interesting game. Both teams have played each other fairly close in their history ( Arizona leads 8-7 ) and both QB's are workmen like. This game could come down a FG. If it does, then 3 1/2 is too much. I will take the road team to keep this a FG game.
Carolina +4 @
Tennessee---Not much history here. These teams have not faced each other since 2003. Prior to that they faced each other one other time when the franchise was in Houston. I am going with the younger more, mobile QB at home. I am taking the Titans.
San Francisco +3 @
Atlanta--- Former NFC West rivals get to renew their rivalry. The 49ers own the history 44-26-1 ( that does not count the victory the Falcons had in 1998 in the postseason ). Both teams are not having good season ( that was a hard thought ). So when you have two teams that are struggling and one of them is coming all the way across the country, you go with the home team. Taking Joey and the Falcons.
Jacksonville +3 1/2 @
New Orleans--- Drew Brees after his early season struggles has righted the ship. Jacksonville is a good defense but are they going to score enough to win??? Quinn Gray surprised me last week, but this week should be no surprises. Taking the Saints and giving away the points.
Denver +3 @
Detroit--- What Natural forgot to tell you is that part of that 14-24 is two win against the defending NFC Champions ( whom he said before the season started that the Lions wouldn't and couldn't beat ). What he also failed to tell you is that the Lions are 3-0 at home. What he also failed to tell you is that the Broncos have the worst run defense in the NFL. What he also failed to mention is that Kevin Jones has started to give the Lions a running game. What he also failed to mention is that Denver is giving up over 26 points a game. Most important, he failed to mention, that he is wrong and that the Lions will win this game.
Cincinnati -1 @ Buffalo--- From 1989-2005 the Bills have won 8 straight from the Bengals. Now that being said, there were some hideous teams that the Bengals put on the field. My guess is I could have found some Pee-Wee teams to beat the Bengals some of those games. But the tide has turned. You have Carson Palmer with all those great wide receivers ( you know the names ) and a healthy Rudi Johnson could spell trouble for the Bills. Taking the Bengals to beat the Bills.
San Diego -7 @ Minnesota--- Minnesota's secondary is suspect. I expect that will be exploited by Rivers and the Chargers. After a slow start, the Chargers have gotten it together. With the Vikings having the combination of Jackson and Bollinger QBing, I would expect that once the Chargers get the lead the Vikings will be ready to pack it in. Giving the points.
Seattle +1 1/2 @
Cleveland--- Derek Anderson is hot. Add a healthy Jamal Lewis in the mix and now throw in a defense that gives up over 100 rushing yards a game and you have the ingredients to a Browns win.
New England -5 @
Indianapolis--- For some strange reason, if I am the Colts, I love this. Everyone expects a Patriots win. If the Patriots have the same second half that they had in the AFC Championship Game ( they gave up 32 points in the 2nd half to the Colts ), they won't win.
Houston +3 @
Oakland--- The Texans are -10 in the turnover ratio. That does not win games. With Schaub out, this sets up well for the Raiders. I will give up the points and take the Raiders.
Dallas -3 @
Philadelphia--- The Eagles have won 11 of the last 14 games against Dallas. Dallas has won ONLY one game in Philadelphia since 1998 and that was a 21-20 victory in 2005. So why is Dallas favored here by 3??? Beats me. It might beat Dallas too!!! Taking the points and the Eagles.
Monday, November 5th,2007
Baltimore +9 1/2 @ Pittsburgh--- Now everyone knows that I am not a big Ravens fans ( I just plain don't like them ). That being said, the last time the Steelers beat the Ravens by 10 points or more was back in 2004 when they beat the Ravens20-7 in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh has lost three straight games to the Ravens. So even though I think the Steelers are the better team, I don't think they will cover the spread. Taking the Ravens and the points.
Those are the picks for week #9. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
