A little belated, but am I the only one who's jazzed that Jr is back in a M's uni where he belongs?!

Seeing him roam center field and his sweet lefty swing again officially makes me willing to pay admission into Safeco again. Even though the M's stink.

I'm so glad he's returned home, unlike that turncoat ARod.

So glad that a lock HoFamer will retire as a Mariner, as he should.

Just so damned pleased with Griff, a class act all they way.

I missed him these last 8 years.

Welcome back!

It would be better if he retired with the memory we had of him

There is no way he can play CF as he once did, nor every day

He will prob end up dh'ing most the time

I agree. We will probably see him in more of a DH role than playing center (if he even gets to play center). I think it is great that he is going to get to retire a Mariner where he started his career, but at the same time this comes off as a strict PR move. I think they added him to bring in the sentimental fans and those people in Seattle who will want to take their kids to go see a future hall of famer.

It was a nightmare to see him in CF for the sox when we have been screaming for Brian Anderson to play

He made a diving catch which people said "wow he's got it" which woulda been a routine catch for any average age outfielder

Also despite having the prettiest swing in baseball, his only HR for the sox was possibly the ugliest one i ever saw

my favorite player of all time and im glad to see him be able to end it where it all began, even if he is going to be a shell of his former self

One of the classiest guys in the game. I hope the comfort of returning to Seattle heats his bat up and adds a year or two onto his career. Wouldn't be surprised to see him flirt with 20 HRs this year.

George Kenneth Griffey Jr. is my all time favorite baseball player. It's pointless to speculate about what would've happened without all the injuries so just remember the good things. He turned the greatest swing in baseball history into 611 HRs (and counting), he roamed center field like a shark and nabbed a gold glove each year of the decade of the 90s, he was MVP in 1997 (a year in which he led the league in homers, rbi, runs, total bases, extra base hits, intentional walks, slugging percentage), 12 time all star, and he once hit a home run in the same game as his father.

Long live The Kid
