Way back in October, I started telling people that Denver was getting overlooked and would be the team to keep Indy out of the Super Bowl. Out of all the predictions I made this season, most of them way off base, it's nice to know that one gut feeling of mine proved to be true.
To be fair, the Patriots went down like champs and did give Denver a run until the later 3rd quarter. It's fairly impossible to win 3 in a row, and the Pats have great company in the teams that couldn't reach that pinnacle...the '70's Steelers, the '90's Cowboys, Joe Montana and the Niners...even in defeat, they never stopped playing hard and ended thier dynasty with a roar rather than a whimper.
But how about Denver, huh? I'm still sticking with my pick for them to reach the Super Bowl. Especially if the Steelers pull an upset and beat Indy. Then, the AFC game gets played in Denver. Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling for Indy all the way, but my head-pick is still Denver. A very overlooked defense, a punishing running attack and Jake Plummer didn't look too bad against a great Pats defense.
They'll still lose to Seattle, though....
