Could any fan have imagined a regular season final day like this? It could be one of the best days in baseball history.
Conceivably, at the end of today, there could be a four way tie between the Mets, Phillies, Rockies, and Padres, if San Diego loses, and Colorado, the Mets, and Phillies all win. This would leave all four teams with identical 89-73 records, and would neccesitate a playoff for the NL East title, as well as the wild card.
My gut tells me, that while there wont be a four way tie, there will be a tie at the end of today for the NL East title. I think that both the Phillies and Mets are either going to win or lose today, which will set up Monday's tiebreaker between them.
All this going on, while my poor Braves will be having their final regular season broadcast on TBS in their history. I wouldnt watch it if it was just the meaningless regular season finale, and they would be on TBS on a regular basis next year. Since thats not the case, I do plan to tune in, but I'll be doing a lot of channel surfing between that game and the Phillies- Nats one.
I can't wait for today's games to begin. It should be incredibly fun to watch!
