That's a broad question.

There's dozens upon dozens of good ways to do it. Best to pick by whome you're tickling. Same with dialogue. You have to tailor it a bit to your vic.

Items? Anything you like to use. Feathers, tho traditional, don't work well for everyone. Not everyone responds to them. Try anything you can think of, and see what you like. I have used Lego bits and bottlecaps (from when they still made 16oz glass bottles), and they worked well. I've even used sticks I found on the ground. personally, my fingers are my favorite tool. But on occasion, a thin dowel sharpened in a regular pencil sharpener works for very specific types of things (under the toes is a great spot for this tool). The stem on a feather works good for it, but you can work the dowel in when they crunch up their toes.

On top of what was said above... unless you/your friend/your significant other, etc. plan this out in advance... it's most likely gonna be heat of the moment so just make due with what you can.

My experience has told me that a combination of a light application of baby oil and the stroking of a cotton swab on the feet and toes has a high success rate. The swab is small enough that clenched toes won't be able to do much... and even then you still have the top and sides of the foot which can be more sensitive than the sole or toes.

Generally, have fun and if they are having fun too then be relentless 🙂

I myself am into feathers, but tickle partners who respond to them are rare, and all the more precious.

As for other items, I tend to like small stick-like things. Q-tips might be something interesting to try. But to be all too specific, Try a stylus, particularly a Nintendo DS stylus. Those things gave me hope when I had thought all hope was lost.

Like he said, its mostly improv with what you have around, which is why I keep my hairbrush, pens, and pencils near my bed 😉
