What are you doing over the holiday weekend?

With temperatures flirting with triple digits I plan on hiding out as much as possible. Monday may be our first official 100 degree day of the year with a heat index well above that. We have a fireworks ban in Austin, not that it stops anyone. Every year on the 4th I hope some fool won't set my building on fire.

It's going to be unseasonably nice out here in the Omaha area. I will be outdoors trying to correct my farmer tan. At the very least I will get drunk and have fun.

Working. I deliver over in Mississippi tomorrow. Then dead head about seventy miles and get a load that delivers Tuesday morning in northern Indiana. Hoping to miss heavy traffic.

Ugh. Been there. Retail stinks out loud, I don't know how people stand it. 6 months (part time weekends) was enough to last me a lifetime.

Hah, no it definitely wasn't that. What saved me from the retail abyss was moving to a different city where I found a full time job that paid the bills. And that was 20 some years ago. I know how frustrating it is to feel stuck in a job that is beneath your qualifications. Been there myself.

Wanted to go into DC to see the fireworks, can make it there this time.

So I'll probably just have cookout with some friends.

I went to DC back in 2014, and it was pretty fun. Found an awesome spot to see the fireworks

Went to a Fireman's Fair, have a picnic tomorrow, a picnic on the 4th then watch some fireworks and watch A Capital Fourth on PBS.
