Ok, guys...the Lord of the Rings was arguably the one classic series of novels that fans have waited the longest to see made into a decent film. Second place would have to go to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Now that we know that decent films can be made out of the fantastic novels and books that we grew up with, what are the ones that readers would most like to see be the next big Hollywood project?

Just curious, so I made a poll. What do you think?

Note: You mat make more than one choice in this poll. Of course, picking all of them won't help things, but I'd like to see the top few choices among our members.

On a personal note, I vote strongly for Anne McCaffery's "Dragonriders of Pern", followed by (and I KNOW I'll never see it, but....) the "New Jedi Order".

Long overdue for Asimov's Foundation series (which was extended beyond the original trilogy). 😀

Anne McAffery is long overdue for movie based upon her wonderful series. She's written so much great stuff and it's really too bad that she gets so little exposure these days. I don't think it would too difficult to pull off either, considering how far special effects and computer animation have come.

To be honest, though, I think Ray Bradbury needs to have a film made from one of his books. His stuff was so thought-provoking... I'd watch it just to see how well they could pull it off 🙂

Philip José Farmer: Riverworld

Done properly and not like the 90 minute fiasco they ran on the Sci Fi network 2 years back. I'd like to see a full blown production........
