I work in a small school district in the IT department. This week, a phishing email was sent out and multiple people clicked the suspicious link and typed their credentials in and they all got their accounts locked and passwords reset. I told you that story to get to this story.
So, the office formally known as the guidance office, now called student services has 3 counselors; 2 of the 3 got their accounts locked so I went there to assist with the account mitigation. One of the counselors is a very attractive Italian woman, early 40s, maybe 5'1", always wearing sandals in the warmer months. We'll call her Nicole. I was helping the other counselor who we'll call Jim. We were talking about football season starting soon and our fantasy teams, etc. Nicole was sitting in the chair across from Jim's desk with her feet on it waiting for me to finish getting his account sorted out so I can get to hers. She was wearing sandals with white nails which looked amazing on her olive Italian skin. I tell she's getting antsy because we're just BSing about guy stuff and she wants to get back to work.
She starts asking how much longer until it's her turn. I teased back that I should put her through a punishment since this wasn't the 1st time she clicked a bad link. She rolled her eyes sarcastically and let out a loud sigh. I continued teasing saying that it's supposed to be uncomfortable so you don't do this again. She smiled and said, "I feel like a kid in time out". I joked back and said, "you technically are and if you keep whining, it's going to get worse." Jim joined in with, "what should she do to get her password reset?" I looked at Nicole and then at her feet up on the desk and suggested she get her feet tickled for 2 minutes. She quickly pulled her feet back and let them hit the floor with a thud. Her face looked nervous but she was slightly smiling at the thought. Jim said, "I don't know, people might come running if they hear her screaming." Nicole quickly said, "I will absolutely scream if I get tickled!" Jim and I laughed at her response, she laughed too. I came back with, "I'm assuming getting that white nail pedi was torture then?" She replied, "OMG, I did those myself. I can't handle other people touching my feet." I looked back at Jim and remarked, "Well, I guess I know what's going to happen if you get phished again." She laughed nervously and said, "I will NEVER click on anything suspicious again if it means you're going to tickle my feet to unlock my account!" Jim said, "I think that would be a fair deal." She deflected by saying, "What about you?! You clicked it too! Why am I getting all the threats of punishment?!" I defended Jim and said, "because this is the 2nd time you did this. You got phished during covid lockdown remember? Jim gets a pass this time. You can come up with his punishment if this happens again." She put her hand out and shock my hand and said, "DEAL!"
I reset her account and she went on her way. I passed her a few times in the school after this ordeal and she always looked away and smiled in a kind of shy, uncomfortable way. I smiled back and called her out at one point and said, "What's your problem? You got your way without consequence." She laughed and said, "I know I know, I just feel like how a kid must feel after getting out trouble." I smiled back and said, "fool me 3 times is next you know. You won't get away so easily next time." She defended herself saying, "there won't BE a next time. I learned my lesson!". I continued walking and said, "time will tell..."
