My understanding of what we currently know is that a person's ticklishness is determined by:
  • Number of nerve endings, their distribution, and density.
  • The sensitivity and responsiveness of those nerve endings.
  • Biochemistry mediating sensory processes.
  • Individual brain and neuro pathway physiology.
  • Personality and psychodynamics
