What do you think of that? I mean, the advert itself is a serious matter, but am I the only one who laughed my ass off at it? And is there ANYTHING that CAN'T be made funny by that song?

I have to admit that I didn't find it funny, despite the funny music. It was kind a disturbing twist in the respect that the music didn't change the dynamic of the advert to me. (shrugs)

Actually, I did laugh. It's that outragous gallows humor when things get so absurd, that it's your last defense. Then it was mixed with confusion. I thought it was some amateur video (didn't read your post carefully). I was surprised that it was a serious ad. Then it was not so funny, but strange, as it became more real.

Yeah, that's what I tohught. Without the music it's a dead serious advert - something I'd never dream of laughing at. But the music just makes the whole thing so ridiculous, you have to laugh.

Im a fan of wonder Shozen type humor and whatnot

this does nothing for me at all, if anything the only humorous part is the unrealism of it, about minefields in a soccer field. It goes on with the garbage comercials the truth.com comes out with

It seems to me that people are really split on this one. 50% of people succumb to the sheer hilarity of that music (myself included), but the other 50% see through it to the actual seriousness of the advert. I wonder if this is something to do with left/right brainers or something else along those lines.

Wow. I see it on the seriousness side. Got to admit, that's a well done advert. If half of us see the serious side straight away, and the music just accents that, and the other half find it funny, then see the seriousness later on, then it's done its job.

I found the music to be in bad taste because that topic is a really heated one, especially with regards to the U.S. not signing the treaty to ban them... My best friend's grandfather lost his leg to one of those little bastards overseas (he has since passed on, not due to the injury) so it's a bit of a sore spot for me. On a different note, I find that music on it's own not that funny anymore only because I hear it too often...
