Does anyone feel like some tickle sensations are unique to you and no one else?
This is a fun and interesting question!
🙂. I honestly don't think mine are special or especially uncommon, though. I do sometimes feel like when I'm tickled certain places, that it's almost more like my brain is being tickled directly or something...That doesn't really do it justice...It's hard to explain.
When my feet are tickled more intensely, the sensation travels up my spine, pingpongs in my brain, and then goes down to the other foot and hums there like a phantom tickle.
The brain part–Maybe that's what I'm describing, but mine is more like it originates in the brain or something. This doesn't happen often, but it is an occasional experience. I don't think I've ever had that kind of experience with the phantom tickle as you've described it, but that is super interesting. I've had what I would call phantom tickles from strong anticipation, though.
Some sensations make my knees weak and I physically can't stand. And some deep tissue tickles like my armpits weakens me, or sucks air out of my lungs.
I definitely get this. It can be like I lose control of most or all of my muscle function. I'm easily able to out-wrestle my wife, but if she gets me in the right spot, at the right time, it's like she hacked into my nervous system and disabled all of its normal functions.
My feet are also erogenous zones and varies based on how they're being tickled.
This is True for me as well, but I feel self conscious about it for some reason. It's not
super common, but it does happen to me. Probably has more to do with how they're tickled like for you, but I haven't quite pinned down the cases in which it's triggered.
What does your tickle sensations feel like? How do they travel in your body?
Most of them are kind of like quick jolts of electricity, but not painful...more like a weird energy that zaps me, but spreads out in weird branching patterns causing all kinds of muscles spasms. If done continuously, it's like my brain is on fire with intense, unbearable, but somehow not painful...feelings? Relatively recently I was thinking about how to communicate what it feels like to be tickled and ended up writing
this blog post (linked here in case it helps others think about their own experiences in responding to your question).
