What I hate about tv during football season

So I get up today at 10:00am. I flip on the tv and check the guide to see what games I can veg out to today. I get to the 1:00 time slot and.....FOX has the Redskins/Eagles game on (naturally) and CBS has....paid programming?? What the fuck??

So I move to the 4:00 slot and...FOX has BULL RIDING on and CBS is showing the waste of time Bungles/Cowgirls game!!! All the great match-ups this week and I get a game with Cincinnati.

Why do these tv stations do this shit? Sorry, but football = ratings. I understand the Philly game being on considering I live near Philly. But only one game on at each time slot? That's ridiculous. And on CBS it's not like they have some award-winning show or movie on. Just infomercials that no one's going to watch. They have their kickoff show on at 12:00 but no kickoff. What's the point?

It's shit like this that makes me hate tv. My one day to relax and not work and this is how I get treated.

Slacker, that was the funniest fucking thing I've heard you say yet! And I totally agree.

I hear ya on the TV programming. Today, we get the Giants/Seahawks game, which is ok....and CBS has this crappy Texans/Indy game. THEN....NO GAME for 4:00 on FOX....infomercials...AACKKK!!!!! And CBS has the 49ers and the Pats.

At least there's a good game on tonight. Steelers and Jags is always a good matchup. Go Pittsburgh!

What exactly is the NFL supposed to do? The opponents have been set since 2002, the dates since April. NBC and ESPN usually get two of the better games for that week with Fox or CBS getting a good game for the late slot. Unfortunately, every week isn't rife with excellent games. The choice is obvious from the choices available. Big games don't always equal a good game. That Houston/Indy game will probably be the game of the week.

Quite often it has to do with 'blackout' rules.

If the home team has their game soldout during a timeslot all other games will not be aired.

Other times I have no idea...

There's no logical explanation except maybe that your 'region' didn't have any games on...(?)

Either way it is BS.
