What is the story with the LAME names TV shows are given now a days

I am walking downtown and I see a billboard for a show called "One Tree Hill". I walk down further and there is another billboard for a show called "Everwood". And I am thinking "What the hell? Why the retarded names that should be the names of songs, and poems, and not TV shows?" I remember when you could tell what the hell a show was about from it's title. Cheers (about a bar). Night Court (about a night court). Eight Is Enough (about a couple who shot out 8 kids and they had it and don't want any more). The Partridge Family (about a family named Partridge). See what I mean. L.A. Law. Cops. The Munster's. Reno 911. Crank Yankers. Friends. Coach. Hey...Gilligan's freakin' Island. You see what I mean. There wasn't this Everwood, One Tree Hill, Dr. Phil Show crap. WHAT'S THE FRIKIN' DEAL?

The friken deal is...that entertainment/arts all together has gone to hell since the dawn of the 90s. Music went bye bye durring the 90s and TV shortly followed. Thats my oppinion and also the oppinion of several people I've spoke with on the subject lol. So honestly, I really dont know half the new shows you named off cause I really dont pay attention to any of it..or try not to if possible..so yes, I agree 1000000000000000000000000%

If this Reality Show fad would just die already, maybe more intelligent shows could be created. Most of the lame TV show names are connected to Reality Shows anyway. "Who Wants To Marry A Millionaire"? Who wants to strangle a network exec?

But at least you know what "Who Wants To Marry A Millionaire" is about from the title. One Tree Hill. What is that? A show about a hill with one tree? It sounds so frilly I want to puke my guts out. Now Monster Garage. Now there's a show.

Reality shows...they make me sick! They are stupid if ya sk me. All I have to say is..anyone remember "The Running Man"? I honestly see a TV show like in that movie coming about very soon with the way the world has become...sad..but true

Hey dskodj, have you ever seen the original Japanese version of "fear Factor". They went way beyond that. In one episdoe they tied a contestant between two tractors and started pulling the tractors apart till the contestant couldn't stand the feeling of beiong pulled apart limb from limb anymore. they burried people in the desert with only their head sticking out and cover them with red fire ants and the person has to last being bitten by these things the longest. Man that is a wicked show.

But my point is the Frilly names they are giving shows now. What is up with that? They sound like "Rather would be watching the paint dry then this slop"

Whoa. Somehow, call it fate, I got directed in a search on something else to an article talking about one of the actress on that show "One Tree Hill", Bethany Joy Lenz.

She's pretty hot. Makes me kind of want to watch the damn show or something now. You know I might have been to hasty about attacking this show. Not for nothing, but looking at more of her pics now....Hmmm....Okay. That's it! Command decision! I dub this show (Dah-Dat-Dah-Dat-Dahhhhhhh) "The Bethany Joy Lenz Show"! I did the same thing with Krista Allen on Baywatch Hawaii. It wasn't Bay Watch Hawaii. It was (Dah-Dat-Dah-Dat-Dahhhhhhh) "The Krista Allen Show"!!! Thank god I had a friend at the time who would record it but edit everything out but her scenes, and those only had shots wiht her in it. Gotta see if another friend can Tivo "The Bethany Joy Lenz Show"! and edit out all the guys in it on DVD for me.😀 😛

Stupidest name EVER!

"It's like...you know!", a short-lived, Seinfeld-wannabe sitcom on ABC a couple of years ago.

I remember that show...that was dumb. It was a bad as "2 guys, a girl, and a pizza', and then they had to change the name of it because no one wanted to watch a show called "2 guys, a girl, and a pizza" to just "two guys and a girl". I should be greatful. We don't have any "Cop Rock" shows. That title said exxactly what the show is, except it should have been called 'Cop rock: Dumbest idea ever!" But now with this unkown new development, I think I will give (Dah-Dat-Dah-Dat-Dahhhhhhh) "The Bethany Joy Lenz Show" a try, provided it is Tivo'd with only her scenes and shots and that is it. I don't wanna watch plot

Somes of these new show titles are bad enough, but how about the ads for the shows that they play on the radio:

"TONIGHT, on....a...all...NEW...episode of......EVERWOOOD,....Jason....feels......that................he...."

They make these shows sound like the most over the top, anal-retentive, Shakespearean-production. (no offense to William S.) And I'm sure it's just the same show every week about whiney teenagers with parents who are too busy to not have a clue. I wouldn't know, I stay away from all that crap.

More intelligent shows have been created...it's just that they're aimed more towards kids . Oh well...I'd rather watch Justice League Unlimited and Power Rangers Dino Thunder than all the "reality" stuff (yep, those two shows make more sense and are less ridiculous than reality shows)
