My vote to this is that F-Rod should be unconditionally released by the Mets, and have his contract voided. There is no excuse to hit anyone, ever. F-Rod's actions are illegal, a bad example for society, for major league baseball, and for younger fans.
I also think that Bud Selig should suspend F-Rod for at least a certain amount of time in 2011, equal to at least what someone gets for a first time drug test. To give him no penalty by baseball, sets a bad example. Maybe they should allow him to sign with another team for part of next season, after penalizing him for his actions.
