What the hell has happened to E-bay?

You know, there was a time when you could go on ebay, and find premium cigars, at rock bottom prices. But, no longer. What has happened to the Ebay i know and love?

eBay became like a monopoly in online auctions and hiked up their seller's fees to outrageous prices so it costs about $5 to sell a calculator. That's why Meg what's-her-name is soooo rich.

I recently bought an item for $0.99 plus $2.00 shipping. I wonder what the seller's fee was on that transaction.

E-bay is expensive. I recently sold some festival tickets for £195. I was charged £7 sellers fees and £9 off paypay for the privilegs of receiving payment through them. Thats damned expensive in my opinion. E-bay/Paypal made £16 off me!!

Oh. The tickets I sold for £195 had a face value of £125 so I still made a healthy profit. That brings me to another gripe about ebay. Its now very expensive. Even when sellers fees etc. are taken into account e-bay is still expensive.
Plus, it pisses me off when people try to rip you off on ebay. One of my favourite bands is oasis and someone recently tried to sell a drumskin signed by all current and past members of oasis, including the brother of one of the band members. Believe me. That would never happen and it is a clear fake! I've heard stories of people buying golf balls, signing them Tiger Woods and then selling them on e-bay several at a time and making a fortune. Its stupid!

There is a vast amount of fraud in selling celebrity autographs, whether on eBay or elsewhere.

Oh I agree. I just pity the fool who buys an autograph on the strength of the Certificate of autheticity (COA)

As Mr T himself might have said.

IMO Ebay is a buyers market. I've found things there for incredibly cheep prices. Just an example. I'm a big Lord of the Rings fan, and want to buy Arwins sword, Hadafang (think Elven katana). Well, i saw it on E-bay and it was being sold for usually around 125 American on ebay. However i decided to hold back and visited a sword shop in my local city. well, the sword shop was selling the sword for $450 Canadian.

I've had 21 sucessful transaction on eBay, all as a buyer. I would rather mudwrestle my own mother than sell something on it because they tear the arse out of it.

Seventy or eighty, I kid you not.

Its in the rules somewhere that the sellers arent allowed to pass their fees along to the buyer, but it happnes because ebay never enforces it
