What to expect at a munch.

Hello Everyone,

I am considering trying to attend a munch in order to get to know people in my area. I am wondering if anyone could give me some insight as to what I might expect from attending one of these meetings? Any information or advice is appreciated.

Basically what Sharkiegirl said. If it's an established munch that has been going on for some time, with a core group of folks, you're likely to be surprised at how "normal" it is. Virtually indistinguishable from any other group of friends out grabbing a bite to eat. Nobody in the place knows you're all there because of kink. If there is discussion related to tickling - most of us have become quite adept at talking about the subject in a way anyone nearby wouldn't "get". For instance, instead of talking saying "tickle session" or "being tickled" we'll say "play" "scene" or "getting it" "got me". "Top" "Bottom" "lee" "ler" and so on. If anything, anyone over hearing would likely think you're all talking about the theater!

Yep, I'm now a regular at the munch in London, even though I no longer play on the scene. I just enjoy meeting up with friends, having a drink in a pub. It's nice.

Munches are usually a really good place to casually get to know people in the kink community. Depending on how big the attendants is, you’ll meet people of all kinds. The boundaries of discussion will depend on yourself and who you’re talking to. It’s always best to keep it casual and feel the crowd.
I found it a great way to make new friends back when I used to go.
