What was the motivation for this quote?

In may this year, Liam Gallagher posted the following comment on his twitter site.

"In Caracas, top gig. Sat in me room in silence as my TV doesn't work. Not allowed to leave the hotel for fear of being tickled to death."

Does anyone know what this is all about?

I presume it references the attack on Noel Gallagher by a fan on stage earlier this year.

they broke up a couple of nights ago apparently - but i'm fairly confident they'll perform together again - whether that's as a one off, or as a de facto band, i'm not sure.

They have made good albums since 1995.

Heather Chemistry is beautiful, Dig Out Your Sole is reminscent of the Beatles and is the best produced studio album they've made.

Standing on the Shoulder of Giants and Be Here Now contribute good songs, and even the lacklustre Don't believe the Truth received critical acclaim.

Also, as a live band playing their full repertoire, there is nobody better than them.

Yes, perhaps I was a bit unfairly harsh to them. I pretty much lost interest and never heard particularly good things about their later albums, but never gave them much of a chance either.

I never got to see them live, sadly

It was about the fact that Liam is a mong, Noel was the brains behind the outfit but his artistic progression has taken him from "Brit-rock god" to "pop-rock ************", and nobody cared about the other members.

Or maybe it was about incest. They are Mancs after all.

id have to agree theyve gone a bit stale over the last few years but its still a big loss to music. that said im sur in like 5 years there will be a maga bucks reunion

Not really; they've had about 4 good songs in total since Be Here Now. It's a shame because the same thing seems to have happened to all the bands I grew up liking; Ocean Colour Scene went the same way after Songs For The Front Row, turned into some sort of gay soul band or something, and Cast just vanished.

In conclusion the quote was about a dolphin.
