Chicago is my favorite city. I make it a point to go there once a year. The nightlife, restaurants and architecture are second to none. As for living there, I can only guess that downtown would be kind of pricey. You might check the west suburbs. And they have two baseball teams. One of them is really good, and the other one pretty much sucks, except in 1908.

Not at all, my friend :jester:

I find that because people's tastes in fun and entertainment vary widely at times, looking up info on the 'net gives you a nice broad start. You can get a nice huge overview of what is available and fun, then ask those around you what they would recommend out of the info you have. It works for me, anyways :jester:

I've been to Chi-Town once, about seven years ago, at a radio conference for the weekend. We stayed downtown at the hotel across from the Sears Tower (The name escapes me) and, because of the schedule we had going to seminars and such, we didn't have a lot of time to sight-see. During our free time, we basically wandered through downtown. Found a really good blues bar, with equally good beer :jester: , hit some deep dish chicago style pizza, and basically perused the shops downtown.

Anyway, there's a LOT to do and see. I just think "start big" with your info and narrow it down to the stuff you like :cool2:

I have stayed in Palatine, Naperville and Schaumberg. In my opinion they are beautiful areas to live. It`s about a 30 mile drive to downtown. If I was to move to Chicago these are the places I would look at first. As to the trains, I have never had a problem at all. Very efficient. The thing I like most about downtown Chicago is the diversity of the architecture, they have done a wonderful job of blending new buildings with the old. They are currently building a 90 story Trump Towers skyscraper right off of Michagan Avenue along the Chicago River. It should be a beauty when its finished.

the blues clubs. I will get there one of these days and see some live Chicago Blues.

The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, ESPN Zone and the Original Uno's Pizza, Navy Pier, jog downtown, sail on Lake Michigan, view the city from the John Hancock building, and much more.
