Well, more death than the unknown. I enjoy existing, and would like to keep existing. The concept that I will cease to at some point is something I find disturbing. I see no evidence of an afterlife or reincarnation, meaning I will simply be nothing. I really don't want to be nothing. Being nothing is scary. I don't want to leave loved ones either, but that's a bit beside the point, I think.Fear of death is really the only fear I understand. And even that I don't fully 'get'. You don't even understand what death is, or what happens after death. How can it be scary?
A lot of fears are mis-labeled. Fear of the dark is actually fear of the unknown. Fear of heights is actually fear of death, which is actually either fear of the unknown again, or fear of leaving loved ones.
