this is an easy one to answer

The Braves fans are far superior in baseball knowledge, show much more class at the games , and are much more loyal than Mets fan. Heck, when the Mets are doing poorly, which is alot over the previous twenty years , they dump the Mets and will become Yanks fans at the drop of a hat.

As a long suffering Mets fan I must say you are FULL OF SHIT.

The Yankees fans of the early 80's through 1991 were wearing Mets caps. Rooted on the Mets, then when the Yankees won in 1996 were asking how anyone could be a Mets fan. So you are clueless. I lived in New York for 38 years and was born and raised there in the Bronx. I am a Mets fan because my dad help build Shea Stadium and my mom was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan growing up. My Grandmother was an old New York Giants fan. I know how it works. The only loyal Yankees fans are the old-time Yankees fans from the 40's and 50's and 60's. Today's Yankees fans brag about 26 World Titles and think that their first title was won in 1977.

You talk about the loyality of Braves fans. Let me ask you something??? What were the Braves fans hiding as empty seats from 1976 to 1990??? Except in 1982 through 1984 when Torre was there. They were good then though. They are so loyal they don't even sell out playoff games in their own home park. That is how loyal they are.

So don't tell me who I am loyal to Grizzly because you don't know me and you don't know what I am about.

I am a Mets fan, A Jets fan ( and you have to be loyal to be a Jets fan ), a Knicks fan ( and you have to out of your mind to be a Knicks fan with the state they are in ) and a Devils fan. The fact that you see the teams I am loyal to is all I have to say.

P.S. No Mets fan has ever gone to be a Yankees fan. So like I said before you are clueless.

WoW

Thanks for your kind words for me on my very first post...🙁

I have been to over 350 Mets games... so I do think I know a little something about the subject... What I said was true ; I didn`t mean you personally, obviously ... Glad you love your team

I have also been to 100`s of Braves games and they are far superior as fans. How many Braves games have you been to in Atlanta?

Braves fans are far more loyal as a group....

You seem to be taking this really personal. I am sorry for that. If you are as loyal as you say, well, good for you

Again , just wanted to thank you for making my 1st post here very enjoyable🙁

Fans?

I've been told that the vast majority of people who go to the Ted happen to be on church junkets from, say, Milledgeville, and Macon, and thought it an alternative to the tour of downtown and the museums. They made plans to stand in unison as soon as the Braves scored the first touchdown.

My mind reels back to the game George (ticklesfeet4fu) and I went to, with Sadira and Tickledtodeath. There was some young college girl sitting behind us, a Braves fan. I remember she was cheering lustily for her team, amid the home crowd, who, being gentlemen, chose to ignore her, mostly. When the Mets started putting runs on the board, the locals began cheering lustily, all around her, still ignoring her for the most part, and those who did comment, did so in the form of, say, a mild, sarcastic comment or two. When the Mets continued to score more runs, the cheering got louder, and feeling alone, the girl pouted very visibly. Her companions joked about her taking it too seriously. Finally, not able to take all the lusty local cheering, she upped and left.

Not one...not ONE! word of profanity sent her way. No beer poured on her head. No pretzel or hot dog missiles (why would anyone do that when the fucking things cost $6 apiece?). She was treated very well. Her companions, Braves fans as well, got along wonderfully with the fans surrounding them. I even remember them exchanging numbers of brokers, or something.

A very orderly evening.

Holy cow, folks! Chipper Jones is a member of this board! Everyone line up for autographs! 😀

As a Braves fan who has been to dozens of Mets/Braves games at Shea, and three games in Atlanta, when the Mets were the visiting team, I can answer this one.

If the purpose of this thread is to ask which fans are more harsh on the opponents, when the Mets or Braves are the visiting team, that's easy. Met fans are far harsher on the Braves, when the Braves visit Shea, then Brave fans are to the Mets, when the Mets visit Atlanta. Met fans do the mock tomahawk chop, and the Larrry chant for Chipper Jones. In all fairness, and it seems hard to believe, it will be 10 years this September that I've been to a Mets- Braves game at Shea, so it's been a while. While Braves fans don't like the Mets, they don't get as intense when the Mets are in Atlanta, as Met fans do when the Braves are at Shea.

That being said: New York fans are passionate, knowledgable fans, so it's understandable why the Braves rile them up. The teams have been archrivals for over ten years, so it's natural for them to get into it when the Braves visit town.

I dont think it s a question or who is "worse". I would more say that it is a question of which group of fans seems to have a more visceral reaction when the opponent is in their home ballpark.

350 Mets games??? Let me know when you have reached 2350 and then we can have a REAL conversation.

As far as your first post...were you expecting flowers??? If you were too bad. If it is a negative post then what would you have me do??? Give you a HUGE hug and welcome you aboard??? If I offended you, you are young enough, get over it.

When you say that Mets fans are bandwagon jumpers to the Yankees that tells me you are clueless. Because you are wrong. Start coming up with intelligent posts as opposed to posts telling people garbage I know is not true. I know from being there at that ballpark that my father help build back when the Mets were in the Polo Grounds. I have so MUCH history at that ballpark. 350 games??? Like I said, let me know when you are over 2000 then you can be the so called expert you claim to be.

And I don't deny that the Braves fans are loyal. I like Braves fans. They are articulate and fun to be around. But if they are so loyal as you claim they are ( and I know Mitchell is so Mitchell this is not directed at you )

" Braves fans are far more loyal as a group...."

then how come they don't sellout PLAYOFF games??? Why are there empty seats in Atlanta during playoff games??? You will NEVER see empty seat at Shea or Yankees Stadium during the playoffs. And that is a FACT you can't get around.

4u, I have to say that I agree with your post. 2350 is such a huge amount of games, that I will never match that. Additionally, the empty seats the Braves had at Turner Field during the later years of their playoff runs, were a disgrace. Unfortunately, Braves fans came to be jaded by the team winning divisions fourteen straight years. The Yankees have been to the playoffs thirteen years in a row, and they never fail to sell out playoff games. The same would probably be true of the Mets, if they went to the playoffs thirteen straight years. If you have a winning team in New York, the fans will be there. I cant say the same for Atlanta, as well as some other cities, unfortunately. Look at Southern California. You routinely see fans at Dodger games leaving in the sixth inning of every home game, even when the Dodgers are in first place. The social outing is the thing in California, not the game. In New York, the game is the thing.

lets see...

so you must have season tickets for at least 30yrs to go to nearly 2400 games ?

How many games have you been to in Atlanta? you have conveniently forgotten to answer that question.
