Who says you can't tickle yourself?

Most of us have probably heard many times that one cannot tickle his or herself. But just today the sole of my right foot itched. I tried to scratch it and tickled myself.

Anyone else tickled themselves at least accidentally?

I can't remember doing it accidentally but I can deliberately do it sometimes on my stomach, sides and chest. Usually it's not very intense but sometimes it really surprises me and I can't keep going, it actually tickles that much! Which is a pity, but I just can't make myself do it.

There are some spots on me I can't wiggle a finger into because it tickles that much. I can tickle my feet too, but only for a second, then I have to stop. So, I much prefer someone else doing the tickling, someone who won't stop. 🙂

o yes...i've accidentally ran my fingers over my foot and it tickled and i would giggle..you can definitely tickle yourself..i'm living proof of that fact..i don't do it however on purpose..what's the point?

Indeed, you cannot persist doing it anyway.
You need someone for the 'lee to hold her/him down or tie him/her down. How on Earth can you keep tickling if you yourself are a laughing mess who lost control over him/herself? Self-control is needed in order to tickle.

It's hard keeping the 'lee one particular position alone damnit. 😉

Anyway, it's indeed possible to some people. I just wonder how deadly ticklish they are compared to these who cannot do it. Do we have to take more care when we're at someone having this 'gift'? Are such people physically able to take on prolonged action? I guess the latter is more a question of mental willpower, though.

I think it's a big myth that you can't tickle yourself. Maybe some can't, but I can definitely tickle my own feet.

Some people can tickle themselves. TMF member NJJen demonstrated this at a gathering in Albany some years ago (I think it was in 2003). She provoked herself to loud, uncontrolled laughter by stroking her own feet. I was there, she was not faking.

It depends on how ticklish you are.
I can definitely do it if I hit the right spot.

I can tickle myself, it's not an uncontrollable laugh out loud sensation but it def tickles enough to make me want to squirm a bit, I don't know if it would tickle more if it was someone else tickling or if thats just the extent of how ticklish I am, lol but anyway maybe if it would tickle more if someone else did it then that means I'm hyper ticklish lol

Anyway I'm predominantly a Ler so doesn't matter that much, but open to the idea of a victim getting their own back on me one day

I can tickle myself.... I sometimes go to scratch my foot not thinking of how ticklish I am and wind up scaring myself! hehe
