What do I think you ask??? 😀
I'll do the top two matches.
JOSH KOSCHEK VS. THIAGO ALVES
It's striker vs. grappler. Everyone's going to be talking about the Matt Hughes knockout, which was great. Koschek is younger and strong at this point than Hughes though. If it stays upright, Alves will win, badly. If it goes to the ground, Koschek has a huge advantage. It's a question of whether or not Koschek can score that takedown.
Personally, I would want to see Alves win. The winner of this is pretty much guaranteed a shot at GSP, who has already dominated Koschek. That said, I'll say...
Thiago Alves by Unanimous Decision
ANDERSON SILVA VS. PATRICK COTE
The thing about this fight is that Silva can end it at any point. While Cote can hold his own standing up, his ground game is nowhere near Silva's. Once down, Silva can submit him easily.
I don't think that's Silva's gameplan. Silva is, first and foremost, a striker. He'll swing and bang with Cote all he wants. Silva has height and reach on Cote, so he's in no real danger of losing if he fights a solid technical fight.
However, Cote is unlike most fighters Silva's come across before in that he can take a solid punch. Franklin, Marquardt, Lutter and others can't take that much damage. Leben is the exception, but with that fight, nobody in the UFC knew what Silva could do standing up. If Cote can weather the storm, he's the best hope at 185 of landing a shot that rocks Silva bad enough to beat him.
I give Cote credit. It's been a hell of a trip in the UFC, starting with four straight losses. I'd love to see him win, and he does have a chance at it, if he can work his technical boxing and land something solid. Anderson Silva has height and reach to his advantage, so say nothing of the ground game.
ANDERSON SILVA by Submission.
