I admit I am not one who usually follows sports, but I have been noticing that since the year 2000 there were a lot of soccer (football) players who died while playing the game. Do any soccer fans have any ideas on why this happens? Most of the soccer players who passed away were all under 30 years old.

This is a short list I found of soccer players who died while out in the field from heart failure.

John Ikoroma - 2000
Eri Irianto - 2000
Paulo Sergio - 2000
Landu Ndonbasi - 2002
Stefan Toleski - 2002
Marc-Vivien Foé - 2003
Miklós Fehér - 2004
Serginho - 2004
Suad Katana -2004
Paul Sykes - 2005
Hugo Cunha - 2005
Matt Gadsby - 2006
Ivan Karačić - 2007
Antonio Puerta - 2007
Chaswe Nsofwa - 2007
Phil O'Donnell - 2007
Guy Tchingoma - 2007
Hervé King -2008
