why do people say "it tickles" when being tickled?

Why do you think people say "it tickles" or some variation of that when they are being tickled? Isn't that kind of understood? Can they not think of anything else to say or is it an involuntary response?

I'm sure they could, but it's just an obvious observation. Not everyone does it though.

I beleive in most cases theyre acknowledging to themselves that they are getting what they desire.

Sometimes when people are experiencing theyre fantasies they almost cant come to terms with it becoming reality and I think this is theyre subconscious saying "yes this is happening"

It might just be force of habit or something. Some people really enjoy talking and pleading while they are being tickled, or maybe they feel like they are encouraging their ler by talking.

Probably the same reason people say "that hurts" when they drop something on their foot or "I'm hungry" when they haven't eaten for a while or "I'm tired" when they yawn and can't keep their eyes open.

Hm. Not sure. I don't think I've ever, ever said that while being tickled.
I know I've said it when someone does something to me that isn't intended
to be tickling, but when someone's actually tickling me, I've never said "that
tickles."

I don't think I say that. I say "you're making me angry" and other aggressive things. But when people do say it it's probably because they just need something to say, and that's the most obvious thing on their mind. I agree with whoever said it's similar to people saying out loud when they're tired, hungry, hurt or whatever. For some reason sharing your experience seems to make it more tolerable.

I believe some times it is said as an attempt to get the ler to stop because it is more than they expected or they want to see if you will or just push past it.

When I say it, it's encouragement to the 'ler, letting her know that she has found a good spot. 😀

I like the notion that I'm being forced to say it, or to admit it, and that the ler doesn't care, he/she'll just carry on tickling. It takes it up a notch.

Though I hate it when people fake it, and say those words trying to convince you that it is when it clearly isn't. 😡
